  • In form phillips or a in form Hoilett?

Who would you pick to stay at QPR if you could guarantee they were playing every week with the right desire they have both shown at different times during their QPR stay?

Hoilett finally comes good after 3 and half years of utter turd but admittedly in some style. The lad seems desperate to earn another big money contract and we can see that in his performances of late. However would he go back to the old ways we have become familiar with if he did get rewarded with a 2 or 3 year deal?

Phillips has been more consistent imo and showed in spells in the prem that when he wants it and is up for the challenge he's a class act. However this season we have seen a player with bad attitude imo.

So on their day at their best who is the best and which one would you have in the team if you could pick one on ability alone?

    Phillips for four reasons:
    1. He scores more goals.
    2. He's the more natural winger.
    3. He's by far the better crosser of the ball.
    4. His form is more consistent.

Not even close, Phillips is brilliant when on form, Hoilett has been poor all but this season and doesn't have a good enough end product + he's not done it in the Prem when Phillips shone
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Went for Hoilett as personally I like a winger who cuts into the box rather than delivering crosses all day long

Phillips without a shadow of a doubt for me.

His head just aint in it at the moment though by the looks of his performances.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Phillips because Hoillett has frustrated me with his lack of effort for a lot longer.

Good question. Phillips is quite lost without a powerful target in the box. If he keeps his game simple (crosses, shots, crosses) he can be very good.
Hoilett on the other hand creates goal scoring opportunities and space for other players. He has a possibility to be much more entertaining than Phillips. That's why I would like Hoilett to succeed more than Phillips. Agree that Phillips is a better player though.

                Same is this.

Phillips for me all day long. He does what a winger is supposed to do i.e. cross the ball into the box, get on the end of crosses fron the opposite wing and is capable of cutting inside to shoot.
In Hoilett's defence though, he is not a winger and had often been asked to play as one. However, even when he has had a free role in attack, has often disappointed big time.

                      Agree with this.

Unfortunately the facts of the matter are that both are unable to motivate themselves sufficiently to consistently perform for us in the Championship. With this in mind we should show the door to both in the summer and focus on players that want to be here, El Khayati for example. He has looked good in cameos so far, perhaps we should be looking to start him on the left wing next season!
