    unbelievable

Sorry if this little gem has been posted up before.

"The game was not how I expected it to be. We had two strikers on the pitch, they changed their side.

We thought they would play with two strikers "

Sounds like the manager of the local U-14s. Unbelievable. Someone tell me he didn't actually say that.

Why is it unbelievable? If you look at their last 5 matches, they've played with 2 strikers and it is natural to build a side around what you'd expect to see. We tried to match them to make it difficult for them to break us and they changed their style, he had to adapt and he did.

I couldn't care less if he didn't guess the kit we were going to play in...I'll take a point away from home any day of the week.

Think you also have to accept that whilst fluent in English he may make a few literal errors when interviewed. What I do know is he is building a side that is very difficult to beat and with a few more tweaks will be a decent side next season.

I'm still lost as to what could have been taken as being unbelievable from the interview...

I'm assuming that the OP, quite justifiably in my view, is of the opinion that he knew what side Leeds were putting out an hour before the match and could have adapted any plans to suit prior to kick off.

The quotes attributed to JFH gave the impression that we struggled due to their team not being what we were expecting it to be, which is about as lame an excuse as it's possible to find.

On the flip side, if there was any reason that choosing unfathomable starting line ups would help secure better results, then we could well have been promoted by Christmas.

Our Under 14's manager told us we were going to play at Carrow Road the following weekend. All week I was telling my school mates I was off to Norwich to play on the Saturday.
Saturday morning comes and we're taken to play on the concrete pitch under the Westway near Royal Oak. The manager was Portuguese and had trouble saying Harrow Road. :sigh:

Adapted plans? You realise that we also had to list our team at the same time. If you are planning to play against a 2 striker formation, you plan it throughout the period between the last match and the current one. 1 hour before kick off, you think he could have adapted plans well enough? c'mon mate. It's not even an excuse, it's a statement of fact. We went there expecting (as we should have expected) to be playing against a team favouring two strikers. Nothing wrong with that,

Sorry Nasser, but can't be bothered to argue on this one. Whatever team he picks should be capable of adapting to suit.

If it isn't, then he's picked the wrong side.

You don't think it did adapt? We got a solid draw away from home against a team with 3 wins in 5 prior to us.
