That Green was still the best goalkeeper in the side and not playing only because of contract. Clearly just a writer who hadnt watched a single match. Intially the contract was the reason, but I don't think he would.have got back in the team had he offered to play for free.

A few things I noted from his highlights, he pulled off two top drawer saves from the penalty and Friend, and immediately from the set piece he was let down by his defence. Alongside that, he always makes himself big especially one on one and got so desperately unlucky that Rhodes scuffed his shot for the first goal.

Bet some feel plums for backing him so long

Smithies is a great keeper for us could have keeper in him for next 5years!!!!! Build from the base and he's superb foundation
Not sure the need for the constant Green references west mate? We've moved on and have a quality younger keeper.

Cause that clown has held us back two seasons mate I can't stand him. The way people backed him blindly made me sick to the stomach

Tbf, my view differs massively on that - I thought he was brilliant for us up until this year when, admittedly, he was very poor and rightly bombed off for Smithies. That aside though, my point is that Green is history for us so not even worth discussing

I'm sure if Greeno had played vs M'boro you would have blamed him for every goal we conceded.

Green was a great servant for us, dipped in form towards the end but all in all a great keeper .smithies is mustard , we've been lucky to have so many good keepers over the years.

Ha that's funny, to be honest I don't think many people saw this coming though! Smithies is a shinny light in this season, along with Hall

If I recall, a lot of people were against signing Smithies as they wanted Bentley and felt that there's a reason that Smithies hasn't moved up from Huddersfield.

Tbf don't recall anybody speaking negatively about Smithies, most of us had never heard of him (me included). I wanted Bentley, but am more than happy with how Smithies has turned out. Bentley will be at a PL club in a couple of years IMO.
