  • Even if we had won ....

We still would have been 9 points adrift with just 8 games left. So, in the overall scheme of things today's result makes no difference!!

Itīs hopeless, we didnīt win the champions League this year. Thereīs absolutely no room for positivity tonight. We got relegated aswell....

Not a big deal imo, it'd have been lovely to get another win away from home against a decent side but it's not the end of the world. It's going to give JFH more of an understanding with the team at the least

Well let's hope he understands not to pick Mackie over El Khayati or Washington then.......

I hope so man, I'm looking forward to seeing both feature much more next season. It's very hard to keep Polter out of the team though given how much he provides to us. Fingers crossed we employ a 442 next season because god ... I can't remember the last time we did.

I'd have fancied another day at Wembley, but the Premiership, nope. Let's give it a right go next season when hopefully we be much better equipped

I think if we finish in the top 10 that would be a massive achievement for the club. JFH is doing really well. The team is starting to play. Still conceding late goals but I'm sure this change. Would have been fantastic to have a chance of going up but we have left ourselves to much to do.

Genuine post Lyme so I'm not having a pop but I really don't get all the 'not this year, wait until next' posts. You can't pick and choose which games to win and where to finish in the table. You go out to win games and IF the slim, outside chance had come off this year and we'd have got to Wembley and then the Prem (yesterday's late goal definitely killed it I reckon) it's a nice problem to have during the summer. No one is going to build a Prem side in the championship, they will always need to add and strengthen. JFH clearly thought what's left of the old guard here would be the best bet to still try and get up this year or the likes of Washington, El Khayati, Kpekwa, Petrasso even Doughty would be starting now. If he doesn't think they would have taken us forward NOW why do we think they will challenge at the top next year? Let's see who he picks and how they play for the rest of the season now there is no pressure or expectation either up or down.

Well said. It looks like he is building a solid team now. Myself, I can see many positive signs; Polter, Smithies, the back four etc. Ofcourse there are still many issues to be solved, but if we can finish this season on a high I think a few New signings will make us more solid in Depth as well as in quality next season. Jimmy Hassebaink will also know better how to deal with the tactics in this League. Bottomline; we are on the mend..

He bought both them mate, he knows about them and they already figure massivley in his plans. Mackie was lumbered on him and he has to see whether he's worth keeping as a cheap squad player or not in these nothing games.

These nothing games are very useful with regards to who he wants or eventually not wants to keep in his squad next season. It really baffles me that people cant see this point.

Yeah course, it's effectively an early pre season tour.

Sorry, this is a terrible thing to say. It's only a nothing game because we drew and defo put ourselves out of any slim chance we had. Had we won this board would be full of hope and excitement. So 'nothing' games are ahead are they? Let's not bother going then. No bums on seats will be a right result for the club, but why should we bother? If we are building then let's see some construction work not Mackie on the wing away to Preston. Why not Petrasso if it doesn't matter? The club has an obligation to the paying customers so there should be no 'nothing games' otherwise they are just taking the peas out of us.
