Sorry Shania - worst player on our team,
Comparing him with Hill - Mackie will always be a loser

Jimmy Floyd has got far more right than wrong in a difficult start at QPR so we should give him the benefit of the doubt if he choses not to start Washington and Nasser this season , and hope to see them as regulars next season which I'm sure we will

It's only now that he's performing ironically as he's approaching a contract expiry. Mackie might not be everyone's cup of tea but in my opinion he can't really be judged on this season. Very much stop start with no consistency in selection and a serious injury. Obviously lacking match sharpness

Thank goodness you're not picking the teams.

not that i am defending Mackie, as thought he was poor Friday, but your stats dont show everything. It wont show where Mackie presses their backline forcing them to go long and we ultimately win the ball back as opposed to just letting them pick their passes out from the back.

Would keep him around the squad and he can still be effective off the bench, just not sure he has a future here as a starter.

That's where me watching the games twice come in handy and he really didn't do anything like that. If anything, Polter was the one doing all the high pressing.

Loved Mackie in our promotion year but since he left he hasn't really performed. I agree with what many have said about him being a squad player and brought on with 10-20 left. He puts loads of effort in and sweats blood for us but the lad just isn't very good on the ball. He'll run his heart out, he'll attempt a tackle or three, he'll score an occasional cracking goal but when running with the ball you can bet he will lose it. Seeing as he does more of the latter why play him more than 10-20 minutes?

Honestly I like Mackie but I just cannot see us progressing with him as a starter. Sadly an impact sub at best.

Nothing against him personally either. However football has moved on and the days when a player would be selected on the grounds that 'he would run through a brick wall for you' are long gone. I would say more of a late sub, when we are under pressure and trying to defend a winning position, more so away from home, rather than an impact sub.
