If he knew we were not going to play him with that contract, why didn't he request a move in the window or try getting one himself?

A transfer is a 2 way thing Myu mate. Someone had to be willing to take him on similar money also.

He has the power to change the contract, he could've asked the club to change the contract if he wanted to stay and play.

If your employer decided that they didn't want you any more because they wanted to save cash, would you offer to work for less money?

Thats true. Don't think many footballers would go for that option though

Technically didnt have to be for less money. Just a renegotiation where the clause for renewing his deal after 30 games (or whatever it is) was removed and everything else remained. I think thats what Myu's getting at

That's correct, I'm asking because that's what I'd do if I wanted to play and it wasn't about the money.

you're right, it seems odd. can only guess that he thinks there's maybe a chance that both main keepers will get injured/suspended etc and he might still be able to trigger the clause (although i never thought that green came across as that much of a mercenary).

That's why I started the thread, I thought he was different or that he fooled us?

Again, would you renegotiate your contract so that you were effectively made redundant in 6 months or would you want a clause in it that gave you another years guaranteed income?

I don't understand why he's not gone out on loan, even if a team pays 10% wage it's something
                            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

But if you're as good as he thinks he is then why would you think like that?

I'd only do this if I knew I was really rubbish and no one rated or wanted me.
