Maybe the endless, ceaseless s hit we have to watch might have something to do with it? Only the handful of happy clappers who bang on on here can be pleased with what's served up.

i`d agree ,if it were that simple ,but it isnt .
our support has been woeful for ages .
Away at Spurs a couple of seasons back, back in the top flight, sold out away end,,London derby, expectation running high, sunny day etc
3000 odd Rs supporter s ( plus some fella with a Palestinian flag ) ,
All quiet as a church mouse,

We can try to blame our pathetic support on performances ,( and admittedly it dont help ) ,but fact of the matter is ,its us . our support is great numbers wise especially away from home, but vocally we are woeful , the young Rangers need a place to sing and stand together.

Time to get going boys ...........

Got beat 4-0 that day. Played three at the back and was so poor from the get go we had to go to a straight back four. We were very loud at Fulham this season until we went one down after a minute and then we were loud thereafter when rightly castigating the team and the bench. At Villa away last season we were very vocal. It's when were given something to cheer. Can't cheer rebuilding. Especially when you think the builder is a cowboy. This place was a morgue last week for the same reason. Exacerbated by the handful of happy clappers telling us how brilliant it is.

Home games, away games, its all the same. Some fans need a proper reminder of what it is to support a club our size. They've forgotten what its like. Moaning is all you can hear these days and its not healthy on the pitch. Remember the first part of the word supporters is support, so that's what we have to do, every single time we go out into those stands, go out and support the bl oo dy team.

You should steer clear of this subject Nasser, you don't know what you are talking about. The away support has held up in numbers and we always start the game thinking we'll get something only to get kicked in the balls by a gutless performance. Rangers fans DO NOT expect to win every game but they would like to see a performance they can identify with. The volume has died away as the performances have become more embarrassing - not the other way around. As for the Spurs match mentioned earlier, the fans were well up for that and it was the poor show that quietened them down - that and seeing Redcrapp wave to the Spurs fans who were taking the peas calling his name. Sometimes you have to put the rose tinteds away and wake up to a dose of reality.

                  this in a nutshell
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Couldn't agree more Big Fella... There is very little to get enthused about and it's all very well saying get behind the team whatever but for me (and many others I'd suggest) there needs to be something to get my juices flowing in the first place... Bit like going out on a date and there's a cheeky bit of thigh or even cleavage to keep your interest up rather than a full length skirt and chunky knit jumper.... Spurs away was woeful and cringeworthy in the extreme...

I agree with the title of the OP. But that should be directed at fans like the OP. How can people criticise our own fans? Especially those who travel all over the country to support our club. It's disgraceful that people think they can criticise them. I think people like the OP must be employed by the club to divert attention away from shocking performances.

Ain't that so. Years of experience teaches you that. Trouble is there are three or four happy clappers on here who endlessly, ceaselessly insist everyone don their rose tinted spectacles.... And scream, shout and splutter when we don't. Watching the s hit Jimmy serves up is one thing, but reading screeds telling us it's brilliant is another. No wonder on here is as quiet as the stands.

What did the fans expect when Konchesky came on and Toszer played alongside Henry from the start. Donīt the fans understand that a transition period really mean????? Support the young players in the team and do not booo them. Look at Coventry and Portsmouth they have almost lost their clubs. We have not. Rant over.

I agree in most of what Alanwycombe said, you travel away and most often see familiar faces, the issue ,if there is one, is that we have a core of around 1200 who travel away to most Saturday matches (a little depleted/less for the midweek games) and know how to support the team away from home, and it is different from being at LR, but every now and then we take 2500/3000 and the others aren't used to the 'away day mentality'

In my book when you go away the team is always under the kosh, us the fans need to raise our game in order to assist the team and instill some self belief especially at the current time as our management team seem bereft of such a thing. Support the team from the off, as Alanwycombe says we do not expect to win every game especially away from home but sometimes, just sometimes, following improved performances you'd expect better effort from the players than what we saw yesterday.

I went to MKD when we played them in the cup, 9000 R's reported to be there and yet only 150 or so stood and sang (just behind the goal), yesterday was worse. The Spurs game in question was in fact the third away game v Spurs in recent years, we only took the top tier allocation of 1900 and it was dire from the off, no support, my brother, eldest son and I were asked on three occasions during the first half to sit down and shut up by fellow R's so in the end we did, went down early for a half time beer, second half support was even worse only brightened up by the incident with the Palestinian flag man!(need some distraction when your 4-0 down!)

Not sure what the answer is long term other than the team winning more and the feel good factor returning.

Fans that travel away frequently approach the day differently than those who go occasionally, the match is often just a small part of the day, meting up with mates, maybe a train journey, a few beers, something to eat, having just a laugh on a day away from normal life is what its all about, others I expect travel away on a few times each season expecting to win with Barcelonaesq football.

                              Just my opinion
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!
