Good that he played well this weekend. I think his problem is that last year after Austin and Green, he was arguably our next most impressive performer. This year he hasn't looked a class apart from the opposition and with Barton moving on, Sandro being absent he needed to step up and start dominating which hasn't happened so far. Fingers crossed he finished the season like a steamroller!

Never had a problem with him and shame he gets so much stick as he seems a right sort.

Reminds me a bit of Ollie whose main job was to run around and tackle people and then give the ball to better technical players like Wilkins.

Had a really poor spell under Ramsey but now he's gone back to his win the ball and pass it role, he's been fine

Doesn't necessarily mean he had a poor spell, rather the constant changing players around each other adapting to their instructed game roles, and playing as a familiar functional unit.

Nasser, get on the case, he hasn't got a Fifa card?

Stan Collymore was analysing the Liverpool midfield against Palace yesterday. When he came to Henderson and his defensive midfield role, he said you have to have more to your game than just break up the opposition attacks. I thought of Henry, has that man ever hit a 25 yarder, split the defence open (theirs not ours) with a deft pass, waltzed pass a few players as if they were not there. No creativity whatsoever and consequently we get performances like the Fulhams and Franchises far too often
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

Sean Derry did exactly that job for us. I don't recall him getting the stick Henry does.
Besides which Stan Collymore may not be the font of all knowledge he believes he is. And it was a Prem game he was referring too.

A team fighting for the PL title might require a bit more from a CM, but not us. Having a "spoiler" in the middle of the park is just fine for a team like us, in fact, I would go as far as to say you need a player like that.

CCJ is bang on with his comment ref Derry also.

Problem is Henry is no Derry. In fact, nowhere near.

It was the type of player I was referring to mate.

problem is we are playing Tozser with him, you need a bit of guile in the middle of the park, not two planks

Correct. When Henry is paired with a player that has a bit of creativity about him, he is more than adequate for us at this level.

                              Doesn't score either.
He is a spoiler but nothing else to his game. Not even a leader on the pitch.

Derry had one thi g that Henry doesn't. ..leadership skills, and that makes a huge difference on the pitch.
