Did everyone else say in their head oh my God when Hoilett stepped up for the penalty.?
Wonder how he has got the job now, would be one of my last choices. Took it really well though, so shows what I know.

I think Faurlin is the only real designated penalty taker, not many players in this squad have this mysterious magical power of composure in front of goal. Incidentally leading into my next point, I think Polter 100% played for the penalty as he didn't feel comfortable from that angle and wasn't sure he'd finish it. I'd like to make the point and ask people whether they think more of our players should play for the pen, not necessarily diving, but going down rather easily. Its sort of a taboo thing here in Britain but its become such a vital component of the sport in mainland europe. Hence why you won't see Mackie taking a tumble in the box often but Polter would do it.

Just breathing in all the energy from a QPR win where surely no one can complain about a single element of the performance and result. Only disappointment was that I bet on the win or draw and I bet on both under 1.5 goals and over 2.5 (as a safety), given our recent performances... that didn't exactly work out for me.

But not gonna bother complaining, we got a very good win and made a play off rival look like relegation candidates for 90 minutes.

Polter 100% played for the pen and there's nothing wrong with it IMO.Take the Sheff weds game; Hooper was clever and went down for the pen whereas Nasser had a chance to go down but was too honest. Its part of the modern game, if a defender is going to push the rules to the limits pulling, nudging, obstructing or just dangling a leg out making the attacker go round him then the attacker is within his rights to go down.

Wow what a sad indictment of the thought processes of the modern day fan... I thought he went down far too easily and should be ashamed of himself but there you go... Perhaps it's another import that we have gained from mainland Europe and as you say part of the modern game but for me it's cynical, cowardly and poor form all round but there you go... I'm sure lots will disagree....

Should we drop the coward to teach him a lesson for his shameful behaviour?

Rodney Marsh done it all the time, pay-back time from all the fouls he had to put up with. Only thing I hate more than trying to get a player sent of is the constant shirt tugging and nigh on shagging that goes on at corners
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Poor refereeing, it was a miracle we got a penalty, this season in the championship has had some terrible decisions.

I think a penalty and a yellow card was fair. I think referees should be allowed to use their discretion when it comes to giving a red card. A red card should apply when the foul is a deliberate attempt to stop the player from scoring. I don't think that was the case on this occasion.

There is validity to the disagreements. You don't win games playing the moral high ground. This isn't to say be dirty and ruthless like that, but if you can better the opportunity of victory for your team, you should do so.

We got promoted on this supposedly "cynical, cowardly and poor form" by one Gary O'Neil, yet I would consider his contribution the most important. He got applauded post game for the red he took and deservedly so.
