i was stewarding at LR our opponents that day were arsenal , i cheered when we scored or nearly scored can't remember it was a long time ago . anyway a gooner spat in the back of my head . i turned round but didn't know who did it . so i told the police it was him , and pointed to the one with the biggest smile on his face . he was then ejected ....... well one of 'em had to go

I'm pretty sure the steward on my set of stairs is a rangers fan, but some are replaced fairly frequently.

i`m sure the stewards in the 80s ( when there was real crowd trouble ) were Rangers fans , seem to remember having a laugh most weeks with a fella in his 50s
with grey hair who was always down the front of the Loft .

Was he the one that used to get in goal for a bit near the end of the players warming up ?

Was only rangers fans 80's backwards mate. My old man was one in SAR and took me for nish every game and hence the reason I sit there still now.

Hope you are well Vesps ! I think you are talking about me old mate pugga. He was probably in his late 30's then but always grey to my knowledge. Has striking blue eyes that made him look like a nutter, Lived a few doors down from me and certainly no steward of the year.. After a Liverpool game in the late 80's accidentally helped a Liverpool fan from the top tier of the school end to the bottom breaking the poor chaps leg. Luckily for pugga no cctv and charges dropped but relieved of his duties. Shame because when he was on the turnstiles it was a cheap day.

If it is the same Tom, he used to live opposite my cousin and back in the AstroTurf days he would give us his key to Ellerslie rd entrance and we would all go and play and score at the loft end every Sunday
