  • Just watched the extended highlights on Player

I was going to watch the full game but then decided that I couldn't sit through it.

Watching it was different, it seemed like they players were going for it.

Any of you that went, did the players put up a fight and did they care?

    Both goals were very good.

Phillips did well to carry the ball and get in a shooting position for our late equalizer but I would think their keeper should have done better!

Agreed it was a real howler from their GK... had Smithies let that one in we'd have complained that he should have done much better...

Highlights dont do justice for just how poor the performance was mate.

I was expecting a positve reaction after the Fulham debacle, but alas, it was much of the same. Any half decent team in this division would have turned us over and we were lucky we were playing as poor an opponent as Bolton.

fair play Phillips for the goal, he kept going and showed a bit of belief, but in all honesty, it was one of the poorest games of football i have seen for many a year and that includes my sons under 8 team!

I watched the whole game on Player. It was not a classic, however our players did fight up to the final second, and that must be good. For sure we have certain lack of quality. Faurlin, as long as he's fit, must be the first name on the sheet as he was sorely missed. CW looks good and Nasser even better. Luongo worked hard in the middle, while Hall looks steady although he needs to play more games. Smithies had little to do and now he seems to made the No: 1 jersey his own. As for the other players on the pitch, we knows everything there is to know about them!

It was the 10 minutes or sitting through the whole match, it was worth it.

The extended highlights was 10 minutes ?

AND you thought we looked good ?

They must have shown the goal 90 times .......

As Ramsey says it was absolute pants & if I wasn't giving Dave Thomas a lift home I'd have gone at half time !

1st game I've watched completely sober for a long long time & I won't be making that mistake again in the foreseeable future

For us that would mean around 29k."

I just watched the whole game on player. Two evenly matched teams slugged it out. Bottom line for those continually griping about JFH, what exactly do you expect? Look at the players he has to work with and revise your expectations. The days of Remy or Cisse, Barton, Austin and Zamora are long gone. And Adel in his pomp of course. Today, we have an average bunch of players, and I actually think JFH is doing a bloody good job with them, given their limitations.

However in Smithies we really have a gem. What a great buy he has been. Every time I see him play I like him more. As for the rest of the team, El Khayate has flair and he made a big difference when he came on. Chery could possibly be rotated for Hoilett in a starting berth as he has plenty to offer. Henry is at least SO much better than Toszer as the defensive midfielder sitting in front of the back 4. He breaks up attacks and distributes fairly well. People should get off his back.
Luongo scampered about, but wasn't quite as effective as recently. He'll be better alongside Faurlin, who remains our only class midfielder.

Conor Washington may or may not come good. He had little service on Saturday and struggled in the lone striker role. He's certainly no Charlie Austin. Yet. Not sure he'll ever reach those heights. We looked much more effective with two up top when Polter came on. And guess what? Polter's touch wasn't too bad either. I think JFH got the subs pretty much spot on. You've got to remember - I think this needs to be drilled into some people - we have a bang average squad. So he has to keep things tight, and he has to take his time introducing new players. He can't rush it. I have no doubt we will see Robinson and/or Kpekawa in the LB position soon, as poor old Konch is clearly shot. He can still deliver a decent cross and is wily enough to outwit the average Championship player, so he just about keeps his place until one of the youngsters is ready.

Perch played a good game and looks way better than his faltering start to the season. I think Ramsey was wrong to drop him. In fact Ramsey's tenure reminds me of some of the pundits on here, who want to change things every five seconds as if that's a solution. Ramsey was the same. He kept tinkering, instead of developing a steady first 11 and having the balls to stick with it. By continually tinkering, he upset the balance of the team and players need consistency to develop.

Onouha had a good game; he's been getting slated recently, he's not that bad. He's as good as Hall IMO. They both played ok. Mackie didn't really do much, he seems past his past his best already. Hoilett seems to have lost that streak he was having, that's why I think Chery should take over for a bit.

Bottom line: JFH will need a decent war chest in the summer. We need, at the very least:
A top level striker, the best we can afford.
                  A top level creative midfielder
                  A top level centre back.

We also need cover at RB. I wonder what's happened to Furlong. He showed great promise I thought.
I think in Robinson/Kpekawa we've got LB covered.
Chery could improve, El Khayate looks decent enough for this level, likewise Philips.

A point away is always okay at this level, given the state of our team. JFH is doing okay. Cut him some slack and get behind the man.
