  • Its going to take time.....

To build a proper team, a modern one based on pressing, energy and determination complimented with some flair and imagination, will take time and patience. Unless we stop creating a storm every time we have a bad result, we will never reach these objectives. People criticize both LF and JFH for the poor results. However, JFH have to play with what we have. Most of our current players cannot press, cannot stay close to an opponent, cannot create moments of magic...because they are not good enough for such system. The signing of CW, Nasser and the two keepers shows that at least there's a plan to achieve these goals. However, in the coming years, we have to get rid of more players that do not fit in such a system. Results will show in two years time. Meantime.....patience is required.

If JFH is still here next season we will be fighting relegation because he does not have a clue, we will have a team of 1st and 2nd Div players that are not good enough for the championship.

People talk about drossball on the pitch, what about Dross Chat on the forums.

Way to early to make that call imo.

More established players will leave the club by the end of this season. I am not sure if this will weakened us more as most of these players are not pulling any trees. If we are able to bring good players from the lower divisions eager to succeed, coupled with some shrewd CCC players that we may sign, I have the believe that JFH will be a success. For a Manager to stamp his mark on a club like ours which do not know where they were going, unless now of course, will need time. Since relegation we lost Zamora, Barton, SWP, Austin, Fer, Sandro, Caulker, Ferdinand, Isla, Vargas, Krancjar.....that's ELEVEN players being paid huge money for doing little. During this Summer we will witness more departures....Green, Diakite, Traore, Konch, Phillips, Hoilett, Hill.....and maybe more. Do anyone realistically expects instant success? After all, what did all these big names achieved?

Why so negative? You used to be quite positive? No pun, I just wonder. It´s not the end of the world being a midtable team for a season or two. Leicester and Burnley were once in that position and look at them now!!

Actually 'it's the club's latest idea' of cutting your coat according to your cloth and keeping within a limited budget. Seems quite prudent and sensible to me. And as the OP says, that requires patience, which unfortunately for some fans is a very rare commodity.

The best players bar Hall at our club are either the ones JFH has bought, (El Khayati, Washington) or reintegrated from the sidelines (Luongo, Smithies, Polter). He is doing a good job with a terrible playing staff.
