If there was a player cam on the Chief you would see how truly awful a defender he actually is. Watch how many times he is caught out of position - If he didn't have the pace he had, he'd be well down the pecking order IMO.

Hall's got him out of it on so many occasions this season.

Must have missed him in the opening day defeat at Charlton?

That's like saying "If Faurlin couldn't pass, he'd be sh it." It's a null point because he does have that pace. As for him being out of position all the time, given that he's made 92 interceptions this season, I'd say his positional sense has been pretty fantastic and watching him I can certainly vouch for that.

My point isn't about his pace Nasser, that's what you are missing. My point is purely about him positionally and reading the game; he struggles with that side of things and his pace can get him out of it when he shouldn't have to use his pace, he should be in the correct position prepared. Grant Hall lacks that bit of pace but positionally, on the deck and reading the game wise he is spot on which is why he is our best defender this year.

Haha Nasser, like you like to do a lot of the time on here... You end up debating for hours for the sake of debating, eventually with no real substance to your argument so I'm leaving this one here with you after this post.

Interception stats mean nothing to me because - It's the times where he gets away with it positionally i.e. the oppositions attack comes to nothing or Grant Hall has to mop up for him - Unfortunately they don't make stats on the times he gets away with it! Ask anyone who understands the game technically and has played it at a decent level - Nedum Onuoha struggles positionally, technically and with reading the game. I'd really like to see him improve in these departments and personally think Angella is a better all round centre half.

I think you seem to lack the understanding of the idea that a player has different assets. If Ned also had the positional sense of a good centre back, he'd be at a top 8 prem club. He's got the pace which makes up for his weaknesses. If you're going to discount the fact that he's more often than not in the right position to intercept, then I can understand you thinking his positioning is poor. For the record, Ned is having a better season than Hall imo and Hall is being raved over because he didn't come with any expectancy. They've both been great and that is why they are our best centre back pairing, but Onuoha doesn't get the credit he deserves for so much of the work he does.

You have no idea what you're talking about mate, as always. Debates that involve yourself on here just go round and round in circles because of your lack of understanding about the game - Straight over your head.

                    - 'Ned would be a top 8 centre back if he was postionally better' You saying this after stating an opinion of not thinking he has a problem positionally? shows you haven't got a clue haha. Also, his pace doesn't make up for the fact he can't pass or kick a ball properly either and I think you need to be able to do that to be a top 8 centre half haha.

                    - 'Ned is having a better season then Hall' Outrageous, crazy thing to say haha. How many times has Ned won MOM or POTM this season so far and how many times has Hall?

Christ, it really is painful with you sometimes Nasser old bean. I rest my case, have a good weekend. Rrrrssss

Relative to this level, Ned is fine positionally, His physical attributes are beyond this level and that is why he's a top defender in this league. You're now begging it by bringing in things like his passing, which isn't even bad for a centre half and considering the fact that he's playing centre back in a team where movement comes at a premium in front of him, he's doing fine.

Ned is having a better season then Hall, guess who's made more tackles, more interceptions, more blocks, won more offside calls, lost fewer challenges, won more in the air. All of those are Onuoha's wins relative to Grant Hall and as much as I think Hall has been great for us this season, Ned has been better. Again, you ask how many man of the match awards Ned has won, on whoscored.com, he's won 4 to Hall's 2 in case you wanted more proof. Again, not bashing Hall, just think Onuoha has been better and me watching him play has maintained this thought.

Now, you can probably have some dislike towards me and I don't mind that at all, it happens that opinions vary. But I spend most of my time that I'm not studying and working, learning more and more about Football and I won't take someone disagreeing with me as valid reason to suggest I lack understanding of the game. That argument usually comes from people who want to invalidate someone else's argument because they don't have any facts to back it up. If it's painful arguing with me, its probably because you're having a tough time creating a solid base to back up your points. I hope the weekend brings us all collectively great joy mate.
