Well yes because Warnock makes none of the signings, he makes no decisions, if Jones says get him, he will agree. That's it. So why not then get Jones over Warnock? What to you makes warnock the right person to be DoF?

I'm saying that LF uses scouts but also is capable of telling a good player himself. Ultimately, you want your DoF to be competent at making these decisions and according to these scouts, Warnock would not be.

I agree Warnock using Jones when he was manager is not a bad thing at all, but having him as DoF (as many wanted) would be suicidal to the club.

Warnock and Harry were chips off the same block - both like and respect each other because their methods are very similar....Harry had more luck about his top division appointments and Warnock wallowed in the lower leagues. Both came from an era where the main focus was the performance on Saturday and on building team spirit (usually down the boozer). Training was about keeping the players fit(ish). There probably wasn't a lot to do between matches. The modern manager, it seems, works a lot harder and gets more involved 24x7. Both Harry and Warnock had a habit of taking lots of players with them wherever they went, which probably backs up their lack of DOF abilities where hard work, long hours, travel to godforsaken places in the cold and rain and attention to detail are more the requirement....Harry's knees definitely wouldn't be up to it :-)

Not sure how as a qpr fan, you can't be a fan of Warnock. So maybe, you should STFU as you so eloquently put it. Doesn't mean he should be manager now. But his record as our manager was pretty darn good
