  • Mid table squad

As much as yesterday's result hurt I am not surprised it happened. We haven't got the depth in quality and we are right now a very average championship team.

On our day and everyone up for it we can beat most teams but at the same time of our best 11 aren't available or not up for it we can get turned over by most teams.

It hurt losing to the neighbours but to me it was nothing more than a bad day at the office.

We are still 6,7 possibly 8 players short of having the squad we need to be a force again at this level and that's with the likes of Phillips and hoilett more than likely leaving in the summer.

Personally I think hall is the only first choice defender at the club worthy of starting, though we can add Robinson to the mix if he comes back the player he was.

Ned should be sold and we should try and find another gem like hall for a CB and another old head who can step in when needed. Perch is very average but handy as a squad plays so new rb needed.

Midfield wise we will need 3 wingers imo as both Phillips and hoilett will move on and quite possibly two new cm's to compete with faurlin and luongo and ideally a combatitive one.

Add then 1 or two strikers then you can see how much depth let alone quality we lack right now.

The positive is we have made some shrewd signings recently and if we can bring in more like Connor, hall, smithies and Naseer then I genuinely think next season we can be a top 10 team possibly top 6.

So results like yesterday for the rest of the season will happen imp. It will be up and down but hopefully next year more positive steps will be taken and slowly our old QPR will return.

Solid post and I agree with most of that! The wild card in the whole scheme of things is how JFH develops as a manager and to a certain extent how well LF does at addressing the positional needs you mention!

agree with most of that, Jimmy on that evidence knows he has a big job on his hands. Sickening that lot took the p**s again though

Good thread. Terrible performance and we got hammered.
But everyone who moans the most and the loudest on here all had us down for certain relegation and have done all season, so when we lose but still stay mid table , so why the big over reaction?
Only thing I learnt from Saturday was that our season is one million per cent over, that's it, nothing to play for boring mid table obscurity for the first time in so so many years. Makes a change actually.
Oh I also learnt leaving at just after half time the roads are so clear.

Mate, my opinion has totally changed. I was firmly behind appointing Warnock and the mixed messages from the club over targets just confused me what to expect this season. However I think the natural ability of our squad is reflected in our position right now. A bang average team who can compete with most on their day and we get inconsistent results.

However what I have seen is that Les is doing a fantastic job and the one most have asked for the last few years. We are getting rid of the high earners who dont care and reinvesting in young mainly British players who take pride in playing for the club. I can see a decent spine being built right now and come the summer with more players added we will only get better.

The fact we are sitting 14th with this squad shows the potential we have to move on next year. 5 or 6 decent signings of the ilk we have recruited recently and I think next season could be good fun. Top 10 pushing play offs but the QPR identity coming back.

I'll take that for Saturday Steve. Couldn't take anymore and was hanging.

We've only just began our rebuilding process. And if at this very early stage of the rebuilding we're a mid Championship team then I am a happy bunny!!!... Keep brining in the type of players we are (young/hungry/want to play/have a future at the club) then 1 day when we get promoted we 'should' be ready for the challenge ahead and stay up!.

                      Top thread maids!
