I am old enough to remember the miserable time from 1995-2010.
!5 years with 2 relegations, administration, a lot of managers and strange owners and people carrying guns at board meetings.
For me the last 5 years has been a lot of fun with 2 promotions and twice going down again.
I get something out of playing the Manchester teams, the Liverpool teams and nowadays big 3 London teams.
I hope it take less than the 15 years last time and without the crazy things happening during those years.
In the meantime I will continue to be a proud of my QPR supporting the teqam in the best way I can

Unfortunately we made a lot of stupid signings during our time in the Premier League but we just have to learn and not make the same mistakes again.
But I don't like this policy of signing League 1 and 2 players either. Young and hungry means nothing to me if they are not good enough. The core of our starting eleven must be players who have Premier League and Championship experience. League 1 and 2 players are ok in the squad and the best of them in the starting eleven, but they can never be the core of our team.

Of those, the only player who left in the summer was Joey. Then, the only player who kept up their form from last season was Charlie. Sandro showed in sparks his quality, same with Matty, who I think has been showing more consistency in his more recent games. Green has been awful. Now, the only player of those 5 left in the first team picture is Matty.
Onuoha has taken a new role and led the team well, we've found a real gem in the form of Hall and Perchy has been getting more consistent and solid as the weeks go by. We've got a keeper who looks classy and the only weakness is left back, where we are getting Kpekawa and Robinson back into the picture.
In midfield, We've brought in Luongo, young and starting to really flourish. Alongside him, we've got Ale who is a million times the player Joey was when fit and who will give his all every single day of the week. We've got Hoilett finally showing us some consistency and quality in his performances and the prediscussed Phillips. We have now Chery - who can now perhaps be more of a success, despite his inconsistencies at the start of the season - and Nasser - Someone the manager knows well and despite coming in from a lower league, has the apparent attributes to make the step up hopefully.
Up front, we have a Polter - despite his obvious shortcomings outside the box, he's shown his deadliness in the box while also showing a hunger to score consistently and an ability to do so - while alongside him potentially we have Washington - who in his cameos so far has shown energy, touch, vision and pace and could be a huge asset.
Out on loan and likely to return and play, we have Gladwin, someone who could be good in the future, alongside a few other talented young players who could make the cut in the near future such as Doughty, Furlong, Comley who have all shown good potential - certainly that to be good players at this level, with Furlong having the mental attributes of leadership to be even better imo.
Furthermore, our squad is now almost completely rid of bad eggs bar Traore and we have lots of strong characters in the background such as Hill, Mackie, Kelvin (to a degree) and with only two over 30's, we have a very young squad as well. It's only a matter of time really before the positivity and fighting spirit we're after comes back and alongside that, we have players here we can instil with the QPR bug who can one day fight for the shirt.
At the start of the season, we had on paper one of the best squads this league has ever seen imo. ON PAPER only though. They didn't meld unfortunately. Now, we have a solid squad, not super special but with good characters throughout. More importantly though is that now we potentially have youth, energy and desire throughout all our players. We haven't had that in years. Instead of calling this the end of the high standards at the club, lets call this the return of the underdogs that Neil Warnock once made us. The team that shouldn't, but will succeed.QPR

Unfortunately I've got to agree with the O /P we are where we are for the forseeable and thats not doom and gloom div 1 and 2 players can not make the step up in one or 2 years fact , of course one or two can but not as a collective , the big disappointment is that this change of policey could easily have been carried out if we had retained our prem status which was achievable when Ferdinand and Ramsey took control afterall we was only one point adrift untill they capitulated and surrended the fight to stay in the premier league

It depends how you look at it, on paper we had one of the best squads in the league but found ourselves struggling to get into even the play-offs. (Struggled to even play football..)
We've cleared overrated players out and we are in better shape IMO.
I think the structure, tactics and team togetherness has been missing since NW left and we started being a whole load of shite!

A) No, no.
B) Yes they did bring in Warnock, but tell me how many failures they brought in before him? Are you choosing to ignore the fact that we had a ridiculous number of people who were sacked or left before him? Ultimately, they were no better than Fernandes has been at bringing someone in. They got lucky, end of.
Then you say keeping Harry was the poisoned chalice of promotion, I could say the same about Warnock. As much as we love him, he is a Championship manager and that's it. His record in the premiership for 3 clubs is below a point a game, aka relegation guaranteed in the long run. There wasn't even any long term desire, it was all short term. Build a team around Taarabt where everyone should just accept their role. When we got promoted, our signings were Bothroyd, Dyer, DJ Campbell, Murphy and Danny Far king Gabbidon under Briatore. Staying up? No chance. Would we then keep the team happy? Hell no.
Taarabt would leave straight away (maybe a good thing) but the squad we'd have been left with would have zero chance getting promoted again and we'd lose out on any potential premiership money that we instead got. Would Faurlin have stayed? Nope, he would have gone, the money would go straight into the pockets of Bernie and Flavs and we'd get no investment again. Warnock would get sacked at the end of the season for getting us relegated and he'd lose his status with us and more importantly, we would not be able to hire a manager capable of getting us back into the prem.
That's refuting what you've said. We are in a much better position than where we were with Flavio and Bernie. We have owners who people want to work for, who people want to fight for. Owners with passion. As much money as they may have lost, they still have that unmatchable positivity that draws professionals into the club. Would Remy have joined if Flavio tried to convince him (assuming Flavio would even be willing to spend that money on us)? No chance."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. The vast bulk of your reply is irrelevant. If we simply stick to the facts, they're irrefutable, and I wish you would stick to them, instead of going off at tangents and flights of fancy about 'what if' scenarios. It wastes your time, my time and anyone else reading's time. Tango and Cash got us promoted. Fernandes has made a right pig's ear of it ever since. Finally, after a series of abject errors, the problems he created - a culture of players taking the #### and millions wasted - are being addressed. Hoos is a good appointment IMO. JFH, it remains to be seen, but he has my backing. We are finally moving in the right direction in most areas, but it's going to take time, maybe a long time, before we see results in tangible terms, such as promotion. However, we are not in as good a position as we were in 2011, with Colin in charge and a decent, well-integrated squad.Last edited by Hubble; 03-02-2016, 02:22 PM.

Again, I've pointed out the fact that the facts are it took us numerous failures to get promoted under tango and cash. Many more than it took Fernandes. No what ifs, just stating the obvious that we would have been relegated that season."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. My view is that the last 5 years has all been an illusion - big names on big wages coming to little ole that on paper made us look like a much bigger and stronger club than realistically we are or have been.
Sadly for the reasons well documented this experiment has backed fired spectaculary on the investors, for all their good intentions and they are now re-booting the club back to where it was before they came in.
As fans it will be a difficult process to move from the "Old" QPR to the "New" QPR but on balance I am with Nas that the future looks a lot brighter (not necessarily right now) over the coming seasons.Tony Fernandes Blue N White Army
