If it's a loan that shouldn't matter, we would probably just pick up the shortfall. Better having Palace pay half his wages than have him playing reserve football on full wages!

Sign of the modern footballer, but the other side of the coin is we were stupid enough to dish out such contracts, so we can't really grumble when players decide to exercise their right to claim every penny. Another embarrassing episode from the last few years.
