Still would have thought he could have produced more, well sterling was the only one... And he left at 15.

Enough to at least produce more than 2 youngsters that actually played regular first team football in 19 years.

Tony gave Les 10 mil to spend on the youth setup but he and Ramsey supposedly spent it all on a #bfforever trip to Vegas

Read the post directly above yours for the answer.

And was the fact that so few broke through to the 1st team directly down to him?

steven produced alot of players who are now plying there trade in leagues. 1 and 2.

As a matter of fact, the same leagues that we are now recruiting from for the first team squad.

I did, and read a few tin pot cups. Main thing is players that have gone on to play for the first team and that's 0.

                        Yes zero, other than:

                        Ray Jones

Sterling obviously would have had he not been sold

                        Kiyan Prince would have too

No worries but as I say, was the fact that so few broke through to the 1st team directly down to him?

That's the wider question, isn't it...

all down to Gallen as the players he was producing simply weren't good enough which is a direct reflection on him.

Never realised he was such a great talent our steve??? Be interested to see how far he goes from here. Football has changed and with that has come the big business of shifting people on. He deserves all the plaudits that come his way but we seem to be taking a new route so he's gone and maybe it was time-who knows?? Some on here make out they really know how the youth set up works and tbh a few just use it as a stick to beat the owners....nothing to do with how well he done or not.
