Thank you all so very much for your kind words and prayers.
As much as I am family ...QPR supporters are family to Alan too.
So I will try and update you here as and when.
Alan's condition as of late last night is the same as when he was admitted and as far as I can understand whatever treatment he received at the scene it didn't involve any resuscitation and he is and has remained conscious throughout though very 'groggy'. The hospital is monitoring him in intensive care and we hope to understand more this morning.
It was a very nasty accident and there are complications as to be expected.
But I'm told it is "survivable".
Thank you again for your continued thoughts and prayers.

My sister is there this morning and he is stable
I've only posted here once or twice but read everyday.
Not sure how it works or who,is who from usernames but feel free to message me privately if you know me and though I can't promise ...I'll try and and get back to you at some point and at least provide a point of contact.
Thank you for the update, was really shocked after reading this last night.

Wish Alan all the very best, hope the club recognise Alan too in some way

I'm keeping everything crossed for a speedy recovery mate and thanks to Jonathan for the family updates. I go to all the away games and as others have said, I've never ever known Alan not to be there. I looked for him last night to say hello and enjoy a brief chat as usual and was most surprised that I couldn't find him. So very sorry to learn the reason why and I'm sure I won't be the only one looking forward to buying him a welcome back drink very soon.

I don't know Alan, and I doubt I will ever meet him - but, like everyone on here, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Peter Kingham received this news from Joe Hylton this evening

Update : Have just spoken to Joe Hylton who has been with Alan all afternoon. He is awake, & coherent. Still in intensive care. He faces at least 4 more operations, one of which will be tomorrow. His condition has improved over the last 24 hours, but he remains in Intensive Care for a while longer. They have still not been able to assess all the damage but now he is awake that task should be easier. He told Joe to thank you all for your kind messages, & thoughts. He even remembered, when asked where he lived, which again is a good sign. Thanks to Joe he now has the mandatory QPR scarf proudly displayed at the end of his bed. Recovery will take time. Thank you all. QPRTID

Us old boys are learning how this internet lark works so I will just paste instead

I have managed to track down those that helped Alan on Tuesday.
The first on scene was a fire man followed by the two off duty paramedics Fiona and Rachel
They have asked that I don't give out their full details as they will be swamped by messages. On behalf of us all I have passed on a huge thank you.
What follows is part of what the fire fighter said:
Brilliant to hear that he is ok at the moment. I must admit when I got to him I believed he was dead, he's a lot worse than what I have seen people die of. He was a fighter all the way through. Luckily who started breathing again very quickly after I rolled him and did a round of cpr. It was mainly fire brigade with him for a while before Rachel turned up and at that point he was coming round due to our use of oxygen and getting him stable. All the lads and lasses did an amazing job with him. We are Red Watch at Long Eaton fire station incase you wanted to know. Would you please pass my best on to Alan.
