Honestly, if you wanted to be believable, at least go with 50k wages ffs. 90k? I know they hand out mad wages at So'ton but don't go too far with it. Also, you go and say you are criticising the way our club is run in describing these numbers. You realise we paid none of this? This was all Southampton, so any criticism you have regarding this, redirect it to them. They're paying (according to you and your 'source') 6 mil signing on.

Hurts...the average run of the mill premier will earn £10M over same period..as at current TV money. Next season each club will get at least £100M per season...so expect that average salary to be double by 2019. This year Southampton have spent £32M and got in £12.5. With Austin they're hedging the next 3 years football money. Don't expect Austin to be there in two years if he's a success. He'll be sold for a lot more than they've paid for him and their exposure will be two years wages...and fees. Unlike us who got what we paid for him...
      Cédric Soares £4,700,000
      Juanmi £5,000,000 Nathaniel Clyne £12,500,000
      Cuco Martina £1,000,000
      Jordy Clasie £8,000,000
      Oriol Romeu £5,000,000
      Virgil van Dijk £11,500,000
And then you try and justify your anger with these figures. Of all of them, lets compare them to Chaz in different attributes.

Cedric - Young and consistent right back with over a year left on his contract. Value for money.
Juanmi - Young striker with big potential based on his performances in the last year (apparently, haven't done much research but according to transfermarkt.co.uk, he went for his actual market value)
Clyne - No need to leave so price goes up, Young, English, good experience, FAST
Cuco Martina - Versatile around the defensive positions, tall and again FAST, went for near his market value.
Clasie - Huge talent in the eredivisie where prices have been inflated in recent years due to many young players. Market value was 7 mil when he signed so not far off it.
Romeu - They overpaid massively on this guy but he at least has the physicality needed in his position. Valued at 1.75 mil when he joined.
Van Dijk - Has been one of the best defenders in the league this season and is a tall and young centre back, filling a role that needed to replace Alderweireld. Playing for a potential champions league side so his price was always going to be inflated.

      Now lets look at charlie:

Not the fastest but an incredible goalscorer. Half a year left on his contract with only 4 months of football left but is also English which fits the homegrown quota. Injury prone based on this season. History of a failed medical. Wanted to play top flight football. Valued at 9.1 million upon leaving but not taking into account the contract as the valuation was made in September.

So I put to you that 1) he went at the going rate for a striker in his circumstances and 2) Southampton have certainly not undervalued him relative to their other signings.

        reputed to be between £70 & 80k

I cant understand the post in all honesty. Is it to just sl@g Southampton off as it seems to be aimed at knocking us?

Dont really believe any of the figures you have posted, but even if i did, i couldn't care less, we arnt paying it. Good for Chaz

Still not having it mate. Charlie laughed off talk when the papers said his demands of £80k was putting teams off in the summer.

              £50k max in my opinion.

People really do underestimate the money a footballer can command. Especially a proven goalscorer who's as good as a free agent. I believe the op to be very near correct. Six million sign on is a certain imho.

Honestly Kev, There's a lot of information about signing on fees and agents fees from financial reports and 6 mil is generally how much a club will pay to 4 or 5 signings, not one, irrespective of whom it is.

He pockets his real worth by running out his contract, and his real worth is deffo ten million mate, so why wouldn't he get the other six?
Would be nice to see some other examples, seen the figures being bandied about martial at united this morning?

Adnan Januzaj got a 5 mil signing on fee from manchester united during his breakthrough season. That's Januzaj, a player with world class potential who had tons of clubs sniffing at his situation.

Chaz comes with a 20 goals a season money back garuntee. I reckon he's on fortunes cos he sensibly run down his contract I really do.

For Roba's sake, I hope he isn't making this up as I'm curious to read his next posts. But the fact that he ballparks a number and then questions it himself suggests that he's just going with the flow of creating suggestion regarding someone of interest to us fans to try and bring more #EvilLes #EvilUncle into our lives.

Does he? One season in the premier league. Will he fit in with Southampton's style? I personally think he'll need to step up big time.

A history of dislocating his shoulder, a club claim his knee could implode at any time, lots of niggling injuries this season etc.

You think a club would give him £6m and £90k a week on a 4.5 year deal?

If they sell him in two years they'd need to sell him for at least £19.5m to break even.

I guess we'll never know but I'd guess a signing on fee of around £1.5m and £45k a week is far more realistic.

I agree, especially as Soton have a reputation of selling on players if they do ok.

Roba. Stay off the pipe mate. Seriously. Talk to someone. It's doing you no good.

                                My guess with absolutely no way of backing it up would be;

                                Wages approx £45,000 pw

Bonus's £10,000 a goal, £5,000 a point, same for league positions, international selection etc. These are common.

                                Signing on fee. Maximum £1m
