when you look at some of the detritus we have made multi millionaires swp, traore,to name but a few.im made up for austin in getting a good club, contract and decent wedge, as this bloke has done what a lot of modern day footballers dont do,conducted himself properly in the time he's been at our club.

Charlie was a top talent and one of the best I've seen down loftus road.

1 in 2 goal ratio, played every game for the shirt and thoroughly deserves his move.

Gutted he went for so little in the end but we should of given him a 4/5 year deal when we first signed him.

This and tbh I think the club was daft in only signing him on a 3 year deal. Southampton have got him on a 4.6 year deal.

QPR should have at least had included a 1 year option on him, given that his goal scoring ability was never in doubt. Yes, he failed Hull's medical, but he passed the one at QPR with ease.

They signed Phillips weeks later on a 4 year deal.

Me too and hope he rams David Gold's words back down his throat. His latest insult was to claim that 4M is not a bargain as he could be earning 100k per week! Southampton are almost certainly paying less that half that amount.

                100% agree.

The owners of this club are not very smart when it comes down to transfers.

SWP, Traore, A.Ferdinand etc get 4 year deals on big wages of 40-60K pw and a proven goalscorer/match winner like Austin gets a 3 year deal on 25K.

To be fair, you don't know what Charlie and his agent wanted. We couldn't guarantee promotion so a 3 year deal was probably a compromise for both parties.

If anything, we should have re-negotiated his contract at the start of last season but that is the benefit of hindsight.

That's cos they are useless and at the end of thier careers and we thought they would help us stay up, so they made those deals for themselves and held the club to ransom (even though it failed miserably).
Chaz knew he was destined for better things and made sure he only signed on a three.

We tried to tie him down to a longer deal after his first season here, but Austin refused.... no wait, sorry,.... Les was already in the background back then and tried to ruin everything QPR in his sparetime, when he was off from his dayjob trying to end the world as we know it...

I dont blame Charlie for leaving and in many ways at least we got 4 million. Whilst agreed he could have signed a new deal with a clause in it, the fact was whenever he pulled on the shirt he put in a shift and for that he deserves his chance to continue his Premiership career. The club gambled as many others do but on this occasion it didn't pay off but I am certainly not going to criticise the club for selling him. I think everyone accepts we are very unlikely to make the play offs now, so now is the time to start building for next season. Players come and go especially these days in football and had they signed him on a 4 year deal like SWP and he hadn't done as well as he has or got injured in Year one the same fans would have criticised the club for that too.
