The problem was that there were a lot of expectations when he first joined. He then had a long injury and in the process lost confidence. I think he has played better all season but especially since JFH arrived. He has also played well for Canada.

I believe so. He knows he will get good money again. Should let him go on free at the end of season or maybe get a few quid this month. Been with us for 3 years and done nothing... Played a handful of good games this year and fans are talking about a new deal. Not for me

But I'm sure him and Troare was made available on a free.

then sort him out with an appropriately suitable contract: ie one with heaps of clauses for goals, assists, and appearance bonuses. nothing more than a 1 yr contract.

its a business ffs (at least when LF and JH/agent will be on opposite sides of the negotiating table it is), so why not play hard ball and lay said contract on the table? the guy knows how shte he's performed for the 1st 4/5ths of his contract, he knows. and if he doesnt then get rid.

no need for the club to ignore a footballer on form (and to hold a grudge that he didnt play well earlier in the contract).

Let's not be nieve about this. He has been pretty poor for nearly 85% of the duration of his contract. The last 3 months don't make up for it.

I'm happy he's playing well atm but this is not a straight forward decision. Any new deal should be heavily reduced in the wage front with stipulations and incentive based on appearances, assists, goals because he hasn't been consistent enough.

The last thing this club needs is another traore situation where we mugged ourselves of again.
That is so true and I agree. The management must have long talk with him and sort out whether he is motivated or not to play for us even on a severe less amount of money.
