Far too soon to make any judgment and I rather resent the ott negativity to Rob Green who had lots of good games as well as the blunders. I particularly remember him doing well at Wembley. Also the idea that people have to be played simply because of a hefty wage doesn't stand up, otherwise Cessr would have been between the sticks not Green ( whose better form kept Cesar out of the side as I remember). Plus Traore and Diakite would both be regular picks as they also are on premier league deals.

Erm, when did Green keep Cesar out the side because of better form? Cesar kept green out the side and once it was clear we werre getting relegated Cesar got jettisoned cos he wasn't going to stay with us in the championship.
As for smithies, saw the highlights last night and that off the post shot 1st half was an absolute magnificent save. Green with his awful footwork would've got nowhere near. Great stuff from Smithies.
No need for the abuse of Green he's been a decent keeper for us we knew his flaws when we signed him. At 36 time has caught up with him now and every gaffe seems to lead to a goal.

Yeah no abuse required imo, just wave him off and thanks Robert.
Was right behind the Green shot in the first half, unbelievable save that the cameras didn't really pick up.
Thought he commanded his area well, didn't make any mistakes and the defence looked more confident with him behind them.
Has to be played for the remainder of the season.
Yes mate, tough camera angle on the tv last night but u can clearly see he saved it. Wonderful save.... Funny tho cos I don't even think our players noticed the touch cos they didn't congratulate him like they should've. Alex knew tho

This.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Can people please disscuss Smithis not Julius Cæsar. I hope Smithis is a keeper who likes to come out crosses??
Fair point, Shania but I've just finished a course on Roman architecture which has held more interest than the R's for a few weeks. Also the Romans usually won!
For a time, but not in the next season when he was still on our books. He only played an fa cup game as I recall.
Because we had decided to try and offload no matter the cost, as a result we gave the position to the player with the longer contract, slightly lower wages and who'd be treated appallingly since joining.
