What were your thoughts on him. I always thought he was a decent striker for us until he got chopsey

He scored regularly if memory serves me right, almost like clockwork, we gained many points thanks to his goals, it was all the more frustrating not to go up despite that.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Walking in Johnny Spencer wonderland. Really rated him. Looked to be shaping up into becoming a real Rangers hero - he and Gavin Peacock were a great steal from Chelsea, best since Fillery and Wicks - but his pomp for us was all too brief.

Excellent player, shame he didn't stay longer but he had aspirations of getting into the Scottish squad for World Cup '98 so went to sit on Evertons bench instead. Shame.

Was that the game we ended up drawing 4-4 at the end? We left early only to later find out we equalised !

Bumped into him and his family in a piri piri restaurant in Portugal when he was playing for us.He told me we were signing Mike Sheron and that we'd have our own SAS strike force.Turns out that Spencer lived less than half a mile from me in Farnham Common Bucks. We ended up going round his place serveral times to watch football on his massive TV(rare in those days) and shared a few beers.Lovely man and a good striker (ala Jermaine Defo).

I was amazed no one mentioned him on a recent post about strikers pre Austin, his perfect hat-trick v Barnsley lives long in the memory.

I always thought he was an attacking mid? Was he a striker?
