Stockdale made some excellent saves, come out claiming crosses, plucking them commandingly. Can also kick the ball with a non-50p foot. Had no chance with either goal.
Made Green look amateur.
Nope, I thought he could've done better with the goals, not that I'm complaining.
I agree he was better than Green though.

At the ground it looked like a bad one ..and yes he probably should be saving it.but looking at it back i think there several contributing factors as to why it went in...but you almost felt the cheer on here from the green haters
I'm not a "Green Hater", as you put it but I've still been very critical of him this season. I thought Rob Green was immense last season and I was firmly behind him when many were calling for us to cash in on him with interest from West Ham an Chelsea. I think he's been below par this season. Yes, he still makes at least 1 top class stop a game but at the same time the weaknesses in his game seem more apparent to me and I think years are catching up with him.
Personally I'd let him walk at the end of the year and revisit the lad from Southend.

Good post Tarbie. I've definitely been pro Green all his time here, but this season has been a nightmare for him and me. I think he gets down jumping high like a lion when he should dive like a snake. Definitely too slow. Smithies and McCarthy no better. I think we should find a new goalkeeper if we want to get promoted this season.
Will bow to your great knowledge on football, it is my opinion the bloke is a poor keeper, nothing will change that so not really interested in your opinion on the subject.
As with everything its all about opinions, makes the forum what it is. My first thought was a howler from Mr Green fingers but seeing the slow mo on TV again it does take a deflection, he would have saved it if it hadn't (I would hope). He does make me worried at times through games, seems to have moments of panic.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles
Quite ironic that people want to praise his world class saves as example of him being decent keeper but ignore all the mistakes he makes and how often he throws ball in the net and class that as knocking him
We don't need a world class shot stopper at our level we need a reliable keeper who can do the basics of catching, kicking, punching, organising and pulling off saves!!!! Apart from the saves he has none of the attributes of a dependable keeper. Dress the second goal up however you like he should be keeping it out or at the very least getting something on it.
For those defending him ask yourself the question do you S hit yourself when he gets a back pass under pressure or the balls in 6yard box and he should be dealing with it; if the answer is Yes then that tells you everything you need to know about him
When he leaves the club I'm going on the p iss to celebrate as hes one of the expensive mistakes for an average player were still suffering

JFH seems to be his own man. If he agrees with you and thinks Smithies would be a better bet I'm sure he'd have no hesitation in being brave enough to drop Green. I would trust him to make that call and I think you would too. If he retains Green in the side it must be because he still believes he's the best goalie at the club. So why not lets see what he decides?

Maybe because neither are up to it and he's best of a bad bunch rather then choosing because he's significantly better
It just baffles me why so many are so forgiving of him when his flaws are plain as day to the point opposition are clearly targeting him when he has ball at his feet and why would they not as teams know sooner or later he's going to balls up
Green sympathisers should have a look at Stockdale in the other goal last night. Big, strong commanding and miles better than Green. I'd say Stockdale was an average to good Championship keeper, so what does that make Green?
For what it´s worth: This His way of dealing with crosses was impressive. He was able to kick a ball aswell.

Stops us losing 6-0 instead of 2-0 but not sure how many points he earns us when it all adds up - Still a good keeper at this level though (standard of GK's in championship is terrible so he is one of the best)
