True. Very often players with that little bit of vision appear to be doing less... many examples come to mind....

Dimitar Berbatov is the first that springs to my mind, although I do think he was also rather lazy in addition lol.

this thread definitely deserves a bump. as we played just a pressing game first half, all I could do was smile and think about how timely this thread was.

but as was mentioned, perhaps our squad is just not fit for a full 90 minutes of that style of play. which is annoying.

I'm also going to mention that for ages now I've always said that we don't turn on for the 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

Interesting comments from Dyche...though easy to say after the game

"We thought they would look to press us, which they did. We thought they'd find it hard to keep that up for 95 minutes, which they did. We thought we'd get stronger as the game went on, which we did"

Absolutely awful that everyone can see that we are not fit to play , that says all you need to know about Ramsey's regime I'm afraid.

Liked what i saw first half. Few of the players looked ####ed 2nd half though. If JFH can implement the style he wants to play with the squad will be great to watch. Winning the ball high up the pitch first time I've seen us do that for a long time.

Our fitness levels have been an absolute disgrace since the first promotion season . Too many players getting an easy ride and the fitness team at hq need a rocket up their arses , there's no excuses for it whatsoever . It's the very basics

just means Lee Hoos's work on getting a new training ground built it ABSOLUTELY PARAMOUNT to our improvement all across the squad!!
enough with our "fans" getting on his t1ts about maybe not being up to the job. let the fella get on with it.

if we had training facilities like Burton's or Southampton's, then we'd have a fit 11 out there week in week out!

He's not wrong, to be fair. We looked out on our feet after an hour.

You don't need a 5* high quality training complex to get fit, that's Sunday league stuff. You can run anywhere.

This is a problem we've had for years and its down to training methods not facilities.

I wouldnt say the fitness team is at fault for this, no team can play a high tempo pressing game for 90 minutes if they've not played that way before. Took Liverpool a few games to get acquainted. All in all, a solid performance.

this is why you have to start with your best 11

when charlie came on the team were shattered and unable to give him the service he needs so he spent half his time chasing long tired punts ...play him from the beginning and take him off. the subs made little or no impact yesterday as the rest of the team were shattered...Faurlin could barely pass the ball after the 70th minute...

And why it's always squeaky bum time from 70 mins.

The main issue is that the 3 players yesterday who were key to playing the pressing game ie Faurlin, Sandro and Fer all missed pre season and you coul see them flag from 70 mins on. I think that this style of play would suit Luongo and Chery as you need pace and movement.

Totally unfair as that suggests we have had fit squads before Ramsey and that is not the case. We looked unfit under Warnock (1st year back up) Hughes and Redknapp

Why so many people want to blame Ramsey for everything beggers belief. Last time squad was properly fit was first promo to prem
