had a couple of OK seasons for us (think he looked a lot better than he was as he was playing with utter dross)

Never really got how fans love a player who tries. Surely this is the basic minimum for any professional? give stick when players arnt trying, but dont think its anything to praise.

Be a bit embarrassing if we sing his name imho. Only 2 or three players we actually sing about, so would rather focus on a song for them than one for Barton. Would blank him personally.

Will be nice to get a new song about JFH going aswell. Gets a bit boring the whole "managers name, Blue & White Army" Thankfully Jimmys name dont really go with that song, so hopefully a new one on the horizon!

and totally agree, we don't even have a song for Grant Hall our best player at the moment.

Yeah, and look at the abuse that legend is getting from some for trying to help QPR !

I couldn't agree more, our priorities and thought process as fans is going wonky to say the least.

OK it's agreed then. If the fella sitting next to you starts singing "there's only 1 Joey Barton" take his scarf (& he will have one), wrap it tightly around his head ensuring his mouth is fully covered!

Really annoys me to see the official club Instagram putting up a post about his return to be honest. Don't see why he should get different treatment to any other former player returning, especially when all the focus should be on the new manager and trying to get 3 points off a team ahead of us in the league? Seems bizarre for the club to make a big deal over Barton's return.

I would guess it was because he was with us for a decent amount of time, and was the captain on more than 1 occasion. They probably also think he is/was a fans favourite.

Haha. Last time I wore an Rs scarf was at the Milk Cup Final...... I tied it into a series of knots and hurled it at the players after the match.

Totally agree with this, Barton is the sort of player that loves the opposing fans on his case, I used to play football in a team with a fella who couldn't get going until someone went through him, after that he was S**t-hot!
If he takes a corner he'll get the usual dogs abuse from Q,P & R block that any other opposing player gets, Wa*ker hasn't scored yet - we all know what will happen

Should get a good reception for his service to the club. Was a amateur mistake to let him go. Could of easily served the club well this year on a 1 year deal.

Hes the reason im worried about the game tomorrow. He's a good player at this level and his determination on the pitch when he focuses can lift a whole team. If joey wants to make a point tomorrow we could be in trouble.
