Considering what he's done with Burton Albion and his experience as a player I think he could be really good for us. It would be a logical step for him and I believe he'd be able to manage some of our more "difficult" players. We'll need to be patient, but could be a great move.

Anyone know his style of play?
      Hi Burton fan in peace.
Not that I'm a tactical genius but he usually plays 2 holding in front of back 4,full backs that get forward,a fluid 3 midfielders with a lone striker.
Doesn't do much 4-4-2 but has occasionally gone to it on the odd times we have been chasing games.
On another note when this gets sorted wouldn't mind Warnock back at Burton to finish career, the place it all started for him 30 odd years ago, though I don't for one minute believe that's a goer

How does a manager that will not command a premiership wage and is relatively new to management but with "potential" make it a bad appointment that we don't need right now. After all the so called experienced managers in MH and HR both failed miserably given the support given to them by their chairman. What we DO need is a manager with .......
          1. A style of play
          2. Who commands the respect of his players
          3. Will not be overawed or messed about by big ego's
          4. Willing to take on a project
          5. The b0ll0cks to drop under performing players
          6. Is desperate to succeed to further his career and not just for the money.
          7. Gets the best out of his defence and doesn't leak many goals.
          8. Gets the best out of his players no matter what level they are at.

I think JFH would be a fantastic appointment. Done a great job at Burton by firstly keeping their success going when he joined as we all know a new manager to an already successful team will implement his own ideas and it doesn't always go well, and secondly kicking on this season by getting them to the top spot. I know barely half a season has gone but normally if a team is temporarily over performing they will be found out within a month or two but he has them going from strength to strength. He must be doing something right. It can't be all down to the players on the pitch. Another plus for me is that he is very vocal from the touchline which MH HR CR were not really, and with the team not playing well MH and HR just looked like they had the hump throwing their arms up and down and would kick a cat if it were there. And CR just looked like he didn't know what to do to make things better. JFH gets the thumbs up from me.

Plus how do we know that of those interviewed we either didn't fancy taking on or they in fact didn't want the job once the interview had taken place. All those who have said we should have got Pearson, 1. we don't know that he was ever interviewed. 2. He may have turned us down flat as he repeatedly showed his disgust at us having spent money during our last season in the Champs and may not like us as a club. 3. He comes across as a right old c**t and has had a many "run ins" with either attacking players on the touchline to fans and then to the media in press conferences and really doesn't do himself any favours. A kind of big man look at me i'm better than you and whatever you say to me i'll talk down to you, kind of guy. His son has done him no favours either and could impinge his management career. Leicesters owners are friends with our owners and we could have been told to stay well clear. He could have been a very unpopular move to the money backers at the club. Having said that he did get Leicester playing good football and seemed to instill a big boost in confidence towards the end of last season which they have carried on this season. But still i prefer JFH.

Wonder if that quote is right...on £50-60K pa at Burton! He'll be offered close to £1M at LR and compared to Hughes and Redknapp that's a bargain for us too........have the feeling we're recruiting something like the young version of Venables here - suspect in a year or two's time, we'll be worrying about how we can hang on to him

We would be mad to offer him that sort of money. If he is on £60k a year, then he would surely take, say, £250k a year with us? Don't need to go and offer a ludicrous wage to secure him.

To be fair look at Burtons results the 6 or so weeks before Jimmy took over. They were losing their way. He deserves a lot of credit for getting them promoted, and now he is working a miracle to have them top of League 1.

I think we're all in the same boat in that we want to get excited about this appointment with a young and upcoming manager and if it was any other club other I'm pretty sure their WHOLE fan base would be buzzing. But unfortunately this is Rangers and with all the promising managers we have had in the past few seasons, you can't help but only feel limited in your excitement.

More or less confirmed by Neil here...

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink can take QPR up a level, says Neil Warnock

Pearsons an absolute loon but would be the best choice by a country mile IMO.

Not sure you can tar him with his son's actions though.

                              Fairly good interview.

I cant help but be excited about a new young manager like JFH, but I love Neil and I would love him to stay too.
