All players go through sticky periods but good coaching and management normally rectifies that. Big improvement since Neil has arrived and long may this continue.

When we signed Onouha on massive wages, we signed a PL defender that could possibly push for an England place. Still have not seen that player. I think a lot of fans are too easily pleased. Grant Hall, the academy player we got on a free from Spurs that is probably on a fraction of what Onouha is on is a better player than him.
Think you just have an issue with your own level of expectations then mate. Never that quality. He is a very good Championship CB, no more no less.

        Bingo.

Fans started to believe the hype around the club and players

He is right, I also thought he had the ability to push on, what's wrong with having high expectations for players brought in on big salaries and fees?

As bad as he has been, Norwich tried to buy him last summer, he has the tools but to this point,he hasn't used them.

I hope his good form continues, I would love nothing more than be proved wrong!

Nothing wrong with having high expectations, but when you expect players we sign to be pushing for England spaces, it just means 99 times out of 100 you will be disappointed and end up moaning that players are $hit because they've not met these expectations.

No, when you sign a young player that has played for England at all levels and you believe the only reason he hasn't progressed is the fact he comes from a club that just buys readymade players, you believe that once he has a run of games, he will develop into a top class CB, even if he doesn't play for England (Maddix) not much to ask for £4m and £40k a week?

Each to their own mate, but with such expectations you'll never be happy as an Rs fan

Wouldn't call him a donkey but he certainly has his ups and downs. You can see he's not comfortable with the ball (yes he went on a couple of mazy runs against Leeds but he is not a "natural" footballer, more of a converted athlete, physical specimen sometimes lacking in football skills.) but we've got Hall to bring the ball out, feel these 2 compliment each other quite well. As i think has been mentioned not sure if he's captain material but at the time of the appointment I dont know who else you could have gave it to

Nedum has always been solid, as whole.

Hall the better of the two IMO currently, but as a pair they look great. Must keep these two together all season now!!

haha. I think we should feel positive, we looked like a team on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed it, we played some really nice football in places.

Plus I thought Hall was exceptional, nearly all his headers went to feet.

No. If anyone should be Captain other than Onuha, it's Faurlin by an absolute country mile.

Have to admit I really don't see the big fuss about the importance of a captain in football. It's not like rugby where only the captain can speak to the ref etc. It is just an armband on your arm, nothing else.

Regardless of having that armband, if you're a leader of a player, you will stand up and be counted. Take Shaun Derry for example, just because he didn't wear the armband, didn't mean he didn't act like a true leader on the pitch?

                              Agreed.

Long serving, loves the club and plays in the heart of the pitch. Having Hall as captain although he's playing well, is not the right decision.

Ned's a very good player at this level and his partnership with Hall has the capabilities of being very good. Has his off days and certainly under ramsey he looked lost.

However now we have a decent manager who knows how to get the best out of his players ned looks like the player he should be at this level.
