You've started and replied to other threads but for some reason have chosen to ignore what I think most would agree is the most important one, right here.

If you accept that Nodge makes valid points then at least be man enough to concede that. I for one certainly would not hold that against you. But by not replying one can only assume its because you've been humbled.

Ultimately our owners must be propping us up for us to continue to exist with current squad and to bring in players like watson and pay their wages…..and sign likes of routledge.
If you look at our income/(loss), we should be selling not in market to buy.

I think that's undoubtedly correct but the moot point is the expectation levels raised by the takeover, the amount of personal funding available to our owners and whether they want to follow the Mandaric, Whelan, Fayed or Hayward route in how much they want to invest/subsidise the club until we reach a stage where that level reduces to extent that it is cover by PL money/tv revenue/increased sponsorships etc

Agree but surely it’s better for the club and all who love it (ie. the fans) for us to buy slowly, conservatively and not rashly. Reason being that should we spend large and it not work out, they can just leave and the club would be ruined.

If you want to grow the club organically just spending what it earns then I'd be amazed if we survived in the Championship, let alone achieved promotion. The board have already spent massively more than the club earns in revenue so Pete is right we as fans shouldn't DEMAND more -but where he is wrong is that it makes no sense for the board to spend many millions of pounds but then hold back on the extra couple of million that wd put us in with a decent chance of promotion. Its the strategy that doesn't make sense.

I agree. At the moment they are funding some big wages and a few new signings, but this is only managing to keep QPR as a mid-table CCC side with small gates thus leading to the club making annual losses with no realistic hope of the Board getting their money back or seeing QPR get promoted.

QPR have a great chance of going up if the Board were to spend Ł7-10M to secure Watson, a goalscorer such as Boyd, plus a good left back.

Once in the Prem, QPR will start to attract capacity crowds for most, if not all, games.

The extra gate revenue and TV money should see the Board cease having to fund the club unless they are serious about building a great side and stadium to challenge for honours.

Carrying on as they are now, would be just throwing money down the drain or a very expensive hobby to watch ordinary football in a 2nd rate league.

The annoying thing is, we as fans see where there are glaring weakpoints in the team, the club has spent loads of money, on wages getting mostly good quility players, but all that is for nothing if we dont go up this or next season.

So i ask myself, i can see the weakness in the team....strikers, left fullback, so why arnt the people who should be, not addressing the problem, its so frustrating that we are now so close to be challenging for one of the top two spots, why arnt they going for it.

The rewards for getting promotion are there for everybody to see, money, presteige
Just look at Charlton, when they went up shoit ground, goodish team, they were transformed....nothing lasts for ever and it didn,t for them, but they have come out of the prem with a lot more than they went in with...thats only one club there are more.

Pete, they (the owners) must have known our crowd av when they bought in, not the 20,000 spin..........its up to them to get the crowd back, you dont start by raising ticket prices and price fans out, or bring in a dhickhead like ally russel.

so if the argument is that they have spent money, why did we only finish mid table last season and why have we only won 3 games so far this time around? bad choices?

if the argument is they arent spending enough, what are billionnaires looking to achieve by buying a small club at the bottom of the championship without looking to throw money at it and drag us into the big time?

I want to see QPR back in the premiership before I pop me clogs, but it 'aint gonna happen if we have billionaires in the boardroom not willing to spend whatever it takes to achieve that goal.
How many more seasons in the championship must we spend before that particular penny finally drops?
I seem to recall Foolham splashing the cash like there was no tomorrow in order to get to the premiership, and it worked.
There really is no point in this eternal quest to put the cart before the horse, crowds will go up when the team is successful, especially when you consider the silly prices the club is asking cash-strapped fans to part with in order to watch championship football, and not before. Therefore, the board at Loftus Rd must speculate in order to accumulate, a tad old fashioned I know, but as true now as it's ever been.
