Well hunderds of clubs have been promoted in the past how did they do it?? Like i said i dont expect us to go after big prem players on big wages, players in good form over a period of time in this league or lower leagues are a good start though....

I mean i agree theres no garentee someone is gonna save our bacon and get us the goals to go up, but thats the risk you take with signing players, some fail, some achieve, you just have to hope the quality players have shown at other clubs exists when they sign for us....

Good players dont lose there quality over night so you would hope if we buy a hooper there goals would continue....
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Pete, please be honest now, here's the rub - do you think if they charged a much fairer and more sensible amount for a ticket we could actually pack the ground out every week and make it rock again?

All depends on the commitment and intentions of the owners.

Blackburn, Fulham and Wigan have all done it on lower gates than ours and far smaller gate receipts, corporate revenue and sponsorship.

How deep do they want to delve into their pockets?

The problem we have at the moment is too many of us are narrow sighted. We have to look at the bigger picture. How many youngsters (under 10's) in London are growing up to support QPR? I reckon 5% or less of kids. Therefore we already have a massive diminishing support base. The majority of fans I know are over 20. That is because when we were the right age QPR were a Premiership side and it wasn't embarrassing to support QPR. We have been out of the limelight for so long. Drastic action is needed.

Fortunately for QPR we now have the richest owners in the world, rich beyond rich. Mittal family have more than double what Abramonivic has. It is madness the amount of money they have. This lot have the financial clout to make us a big club. They can go out a do a mini Man City to ensure we get out of the Championship. Then the world is our oyster. They can afford to build/buy us a new ground. Our support levels would start to dramatically increase as the performance on the pitch grew, which it would with top players. Now it might not be to everyone's liking but that is another post.

It may take us 20 years to start reaping the benefits of increased gates, higher profile etc etc but unless we do something now we have no chance. I have 4 nephews and am trying desperately to get them to be Rangers fans. However every game they see has Torres/Drogba/Van Persie smashing in wonder goals every week, 40 thousand fans, hours of TV based on tactics. How can I sell them the benefits of Pellicori against Peterboro in front of 10,000. Its not easy.

                you've been rangered

In reality 3 get promoted each year and that does not accumulate to hundreds.

None of them have done it by paying players 20k a week plus and buying players for 2-3 million in the championship. Most of the time, its down to hard work, commitment by all parties and a degree of passion.

Pete, dont think anyone is demanding prem players on prem wages, just good championship players who stand a good if not better chance of getting us up, tell me, what would be your salution to our goalscoring problem, also the left back problem, barrowdale is average at best.

I would like to see a revamp of the club struture, ie...Scouting(would save the club a fortune) youth acadamy, director of football, money well spent in these area's could save a packet, and be good for the future of the club.

And if we have aspirations of going up, a bigger better stadium is a must.

I already do...its alot less stressful. I now have lower expectations and expect a mid table finish.

Fulham, Wigan, Portsmouth & Wolves in recent years have done exactly that. Blackburn did it 15 years back.

Only Wolves, at the time, could boast a higher turnover than we do now (comparatively)

They never played players 20k a week.

Wigan still had 6,000 crowds the season they went up!!

Fulham came nearest to what we are doing, and its pretty similar policy. Though, its taking us much longer:cry:

Fulham spend money on transfer fees and have showed much more ambition hence why they moved up the leagues. If I told you Pete we should spend 4million on the whole squad with some loans to throw into the mix and don't even bring up that 3.5 for Fraulin. I bet we have spent no more than 4 million. I think we all.. including yourself expected more money to be spent. We are in a dodgy position where we could lose Watson all for the sake of 250k. To compare our ambition and budget to that of Mohamed al-Fayed is totally wrong.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The question is how much money did fulham spend to go up?

                                not much is the answer
