  • For The Ones..Asking Us To Splash The Cash

Do you want all our players to be on £20,000 a week, thats probably the minium wage for a premierhip footballer? That equates to to over 1 million pound per player, per year.

Not one one player (unless it Newcastle, WBA or Boro would pay that) in the championship

How could we possibily sustain that kind of wage for a team that gets 12,000 gates and not 30,000?

Why do you keep putting up Aunt Sally arguments that nobody is making? Yes, there are some fans who expect the earth but most sensible posters on here simply say we have spent so much so why not finish the job by buying a striker and left back that cd make us genuine promotion challengers. If the board aren't that bothered about promotion then arguably they've actually spent too much. But if they do want promotion then they have to spend a bit more. I really don't see why we are still debating this - its unanswerable.

They are making them, otherwise I wouldn't post it.

I've already seen a post suggesting the Mittals should spend the money, when/if Flavio is forced out.

It just won't happen in the championship, some need a reality check.

        Exactly.

Asking for people like Tommy Spurr, Gary Hooper, Simeon Jackson etc.. is hardly the actions of a bunch of loony fans with no take on the real world.

        Usual stuff though.

none of those 3 players would guarantee promotion, its just your wish list.

I understand what your saying pete...

But, im not asking the board to put in bids for henry, or owen. Someone like a hooper wouldnt be asking for 20k! But he would get the goals were looking for...

I also understand your sentiments about our attendances, but the board have done a good job of giving the fans reasons for not attending, prices are rather silly... My gold season ticket is £600, or 570 something. If the board took them down at the start of this season to £450 crowds this season would have been much better...
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

As I said, get Hooper and than it would be

"well, we need anothewr striker" it never ends.

Getting hooper would not guarantee promotion, it would just make our team slightly stronger and you don't know for sure he could take the step up, no-one does. The only way you ensure promotion is to go after big guns in the premiership, who are hardly likely to make the drop.

                Never heard that chant! :waaaht:

Never said they'd guarantee promotion, just improve our chances.

There you go again, making up false arguments, and going off at weird angles.... I never said that.
Just saying that those 3 targets are not 20k per week Prem players who would bankrupt us. But they'd improve us. (only IMO)

                  Different teams for different leagues.

You need a team to get out of this league and by the looks of it - o totally different one to just stay up - let alone actually achieve anything in the top league.

At the moment we have a team if all fit and not suspended of maybe challenging for playoffs. Our squad is not all there yet.The players mentioned could help us achieve more - but that is the gamble managers/owners must make if they want to achieve more than the regular mid table status which we have at moment.

Well Pete if you take that attitude you might as well give up. Other clubs - and not just big recently ex premiership clubs - seem to be able to get promotion, eg burnley, stoke. They are just well run. No one sensible - as far as I know - says Hooper and Spurr wd guarantee promotion but you have to admit it wd dramatically shorten the odds.

Well most of the best players we have are loan players, we never really bought anyone of high profile. I know we strangely bought Faurlin the unknown for £3.5m but that was a mystery player that no one understood.

I think realistically you always have to have a sensible wage and transfer structure to any club, the problem for QPR was that we never had the gates or stadium, in the last 13 years we had gone backwards where other clubs invested in their stadiums, created new fan bases and pushed on, we were left behind big time and still paying for the mistake, also what a lot of people don't realise is that we were still paying Vinnie Jone's wages 6 years after he left, hence why the finances were a lot worse than we thought. A 12,000 gate is pretty poor for a championship side, realistically we are a good league one club as I think the championship now has moved so far on.

The only way this can be solved is if we did get back into the premiership you would then attract more fans back or even new ones, but until that happens we'll always bearly get 13k home gate...

Having said that they did steal the club cheap, got rid os the share holders like myself and really treated familys poorly, and they did hike prices to an unrealistic level.
Going to QPR thesedays is no value at all and i'm surprised we even get 12k.

Another one thats just an opinion.

                          No guarantees.

Not doing too great at Boro

I think we should settle for what we have, ignore the season ticket prices and that we have the richest owners in world football. we should just carry on loaning players, buying cheap imports who are crap and accept our inevitable mid-table finish.
