Four games -- NO goals -- no answers?

As much as we've stopped leaking goals on defence the past month, we have now been held scoreless more than 360 minutes.

With the exception of Charlie Austin, we are a team filled with players who don't finish plays.

Phillips: great speed, great breakout ability, weak finish
Fer: solid ball control abilities, great potential, no finish
Hoilett: arguably the best example of this point

So why did we start the Boro game with JET on the bench, and only brought him in late, when he's been a standout performer the past few games? With Austin unavailable? With four three straight scoreless games?

Because we had a game plan to frustrate them and stop them scoring, which would've worked but for a moment of madness by Fer.

we keep leaving how strikers on the bench what do you expect, hence derby and boro both high profile games where we seemed scared

Explain this if you can.

We have clearly decided to play a conservative brand of soccer (translation: dull, uninspired, unaggressive) to try to get draws against teams higher than us in the standings.

How is that going to give us a real shot at the playoffs?

Because when we play lower ranked teams, games we'll then HAVE to win, do you expect us to turn on a dime and prevail using a completely different style of play with a somewhat different lineup.

Not using JET til the end of the last game, with Charlie out, and then field Petrasso in the final minute when we gave up the penalty, is not a game plan to advance into the playoffs. It is a concession that we aspire to nothing more than avoiding relegation.

If that's the case, put in the younger players and see what we've got for next season. Or go all out to win every game. Or tell the fans what's going on, and let them decide whether they want to attend and/or follow games with their time and their dollars.

we should be able to take the game to any team in this league , we sat back and hoped to take them on the break . what a load of rubbish . why are we not giving it a right go and attacking teams and putting them on the back foot. useless tactics showing the opposition we are scared of them .... get someone in quickly that instils in the team that they can compete with anyone in the division .
