leaving the philosophy to one side for the mo...... I don't think any sane person would disagree that off the park decisions have been questionable at best under TF, and not just in the transfer market. People should have learned by know that a successful career in business does not necessarily translate to success when it comes to football. I still find the latest companies house figures staggering, and given where we are vs where we were when he came in they suggest a certain lack of rigorous decision making.....
to be fair to cisse, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the goals he scored in his first couple of months singlehandedly saved the club from relegation and that, since his transfer fee and wages for total contract were lower than the difference of a year's prem money and the parachute payments, he wasn't a poor buy at all.
This. Monsieur Lenoir was clearly a unstable whack job, but goals at Villa and against Stoke gave us four points which allowed us to stay up on goal difference. One of our better buys.

Would've been more comfortable if he wasn't getting sent off every other game lol

We were a team hoping to go into a prem season with DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd leading our line for the likely future. Trust me, as bad financially as it looked prior to this write off, we would have been alot worse if things didn't change.
Wasn't that when we had owners who were attempting to clear the club's debt in order to make us an attractive business acquisition, and were therefore not prepared to spend money on players in order to attract potential buyers? Sound familiar?

This is the exact point I have been making for the last 7 pages or so.
He got a red and then another the first game back from suspension didn't he?
Crazy man.
Yeah. Grabbed a Wolves defender by the throat right in front of the referee. That was clever. Then, at Sunderland away, thought an off the ground two footed tackle was a sensible option. In their half.......

And we thought Samba Diakite was a bit mental lol. Still, his goals in the second half of that season were invaluable.
