to be fair to cisse, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the goals he scored in his first couple of months singlehandedly saved the club from relegation and that, since his transfer fee and wages for total contract were lower than the difference of a year's prem money and the parachute payments, he wasn't a poor buy at all.

So if you agree with me "in hindsight" (as if you can use anything else to form an opinion after the fact) what exactly are we disagreeing on?

You appear to be focusing solely on the underwelming performances of the players. Clearly that is an aspect of my argument, but really I am stating that they made no business sense, from the point of view that they would be a drain on resources with no way of recouping the investment even if they had performed to an acceptable level. That is the owner's fault.

      • What was a good thread has descended into a petty squabble again. Shame.

Well for one thing no-one is forcing you to read the comments. For another, threads wouldn't last for more than a few posts if eveyone agreed with each other.

Don't mind disagreements Surrey, that's the nature of the beast. This is a petty squabble.

As for not reading the comments. Like I said this WAS a good thread until hijacked.

The difference between a "disagrement" and a "squabble" is little more than a question of semantics. I would argue that all disgareements about football are petty in the scheme of things.

              Apologies for hijacking the thread.

                Haha! That's probably correct.

leaving the philosophy to one side for the mo...... I don't think any sane person would disagree that off the park decisions have been questionable at best under TF, and not just in the transfer market. People should have learned by know that a successful career in business does not necessarily translate to success when it comes to football. I still find the latest companies house figures staggering, and given where we are vs where we were when he came in they suggest a certain lack of rigorous decision making.....

100% agreed. That was the original point I made in fact, that while we gave them a relatively long contract, albeit 2.5 years was only because it was a jan transfer, he did enough to warrant it, same imo as Zamora and to a degree Barton, although it can be argued that his was the moist debatable.

We were a team hoping to go into a prem season with DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd leading our line for the likely future. Trust me, as bad financially as it looked prior to this write off, we would have been alot worse if things didn't change.

Sorry, I've just woken up and this is the first thing I read and may already have changed as TF says he is going to update.

If, as seems likely from glimpsing at above details, the club has had written off the debt to shares and plus the 60mil mentioned as well.

That is one of the most incredible acts of Kindness, which is the only word I can think of now in my morning stupor pre coffee, to our club. Well on a much bigger scale ANY club has ever received.

Forget the mistakes and our current position, ignore all that in fact.

Go back a few years to when TF arrived and just imagine he said, "I've looked on at what Tango and his pet have done and now I've got 240mil that I'm willing to risk on the club to see if I can do better." There is not another club on the planet, Barca, Real, Bayern, Cheeseski, Manure etc' not a single club that would not have welcomed TF with open arms.

Just imagine for a split second if he had done a Glazer on us.

A lot has already been said about his mistakes that I am just as certain he has a vague awareness of so I have no intention of listing them.

Christ, if this doesn't make everyone say a massive 'Thank You' then there is no hope for us. We will have become the perrenial chip on our shoulder whingers that we all despise so of a lot of 'fans' of the teams left behind by the Russian. That lot I believe still carry their debt.

The cold harsh reality is the club unfortunately wasted the money in the main but TF is not 100% to blame for that, I again don't doubt he was given plenty of 'advice'. There can scarcely be a person involved in the club that can look themselves in the mirror and say "At least I warned him against whatever" so the whole club is complicit in its current state not just TF.

If I had the time I'd write 240 million thank yous to the man and board who will have had to take this on the chin.

I hope he doesn't pack his bags and go as we wont get another board who are anywhere near as benevolent.

If I was to offer any advice, it would be to lose some of the advisors and stop trying to be everyones friend.

I could go on but I'm boring myself now.

TF and the whole board of QPR, THANK YOU.

Difficult to argue with, in my opinion.

                        Anyone know who posted it?

                        • you can all say and think what you like but the facts are that i do not hope for administration or the demise of our club.

I'm glad the debt is gone. This is the first step for uncle bungle to sell the club.

This time next year, my opinion is that we will thankfully have a new owner/'s and i just wish for full time commitment along with sound judgement.

                          • Even if they do want to sell it can take a long time to find the right buyer.
