I thought he was at Rangers? They aren't even the largest club in Glasgow.

Warnock is also a good option

There were a few good managers that we missed out on Clarke, Warburton ,Clemence ,Hughton, but we took the cheap option

Not actually true that though is it?!!

Warbuton left Brentford because their chairman wanted to bring in a Director of Football. He was never going to take the job under Les a year ago just as he won't want to take it now!

So Brentford never brought in a Director of football at exactly the same time as Warburton left?

Nah, I don't agree. The Scottish leagues are pathetic. The old firm might be a big game but (if / when Rangers get back in the Prem) they'll have that game 4 or 5 times a season, the novelty will soon wear off. Every other week they're travelling to Inverness, Dundee, Hibernian etc. As for European nights, they might get a couple of qualifying games in against some Latvian outfit before getting knocked out.

I can't imagine his long term ambition lies north of the border tbh.

We did miss a trick not snapping him up when Redknapp went though.

How could we have missed a trick if he never wanted to come here?!!

Doing that was to find his replacement, but him leaving was down to the use of statistical analysis, it was a big thing, got nothing to do with the DOF in the way some would think.

Tell me, did the 2 DOF's leave when they appointed a new manager?

And we know this how? We missed a trick not even going in for him.

Do you know that we didn't approach him?

I don't know that we did for sure but I have a pretty good hunch that he was on our target list. Regardless of what Nasser said above, I'm sure that he was aware that Brentford were bringing in a DOF. I'm also sure that the fact they were looking to employ a DOF was a factor in why he left Brentford.

If that is the case, why would he want to join another club that has a DOF model?

Should just stick with NW for this season. This has been a total cluster f#%€ from start. Just right this one off and start again in the summer. Some on here will not agree but answer this, if we got promoted (yeah right) then we would need another full starting 11 for the prem as this lot is shite. And then we start over again and again. We just don't learn our leasons do we?

Can't agree with that. Some of the most technically gifted players we've had in many years. What we're missing is a backbone and some self belief. There are also a few gaps in the squad (which is unforgiveable really considering how many we brought in) and too much reliance on Charlie to score goals.
