Let's remember that palace were bottom at xmas and still went up via the play offs showing just what putting a run together can do in this league . We're actually not that far behind as it is . We're more than good enough for a top 6 finish and as clubs such as Derby have shown us the pressure of expectation can get to you . Perhaps not being fancied will turn out to be a good thing

Anyway, I think we both agree that the manager isn't the real problem in all this.

It's been a few days since the sacking and warnocks made a huge difference.
Much more solid at the back and more positive display. Fer and Sandro aren't quite match fit and Charlie a little rusty that needs be remembered. But the boys played for the shirt yesterday.
I reckon the international break is a good thing this time as its another 2 weeks for warnock to whip the boys into gear. Preston also have an excellent defensive record this guest.
Can see us pushing hard to play offs if we crack on from here and add a few shrewd sightings in January.

A play off place wouldn't be too far fetched. If we are there or there abouts come January I imagine the owners would sanction some spending to strengthen, given the potential windfall. Could do with Charlie staying obviously.“He'll regret it till his dying day, if ever he lives that long”

Don't think the moving on of overpaid 'too good for us in the championship' players had fully run its course - also don't think they've played as hard for Ramsey as the could have.
Warnock will have more respect, but they know he is possibly only here a short while - will they play full out for him or wait till Sherwood/Pearson/whoever takes over ?
By the time the dust has settled after the next transfer window saga, promotion will be out of reach

I look at Bournemouth, a very good Championship team, struggling in the top flight. Do we want that humiliation again? I would like to have a few seasons in the Championship, bring on some youngsters and build againI must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
