Just to highlight this in an individual game against a top team, I found data for the 1 - 0 home win vs Chelsea that season, Faurlin had an 87% pass success rate from 47 Passes (Only Mata was more accurate in a non CB Position). He made 7 tackles in that game which is incredible as well as 2 interceptions and again, had the most touches on the QPR (albeit 59). Quite an incredible performance against top opposition. Just in case again people thought these were backwards passes, 30 of them were directly forward which again is incredible against a team like Chelsea at the time.

Just to show you statistically how good he was, he played 20 league games, made 57.4 passes per game and plenty more touches, having an 80% success rate with them in his first season ever in the top flight. He also made 2.3 interceptions per game, 4.5 successful tackles per game out of 6 attempted (0.8 more per game than any other CM/CDM), won 1.4 out of 2.6 attempted aerial duels per game (more than any Argentinian in the league that season) and played 1.4 key attacking passes per game from a deep lying position. Of all prem players in CM/CDM, he played the 3rd most accurate long balls (behind Modric and O'hara). He was literally always at the top of the statical board and had he not gotten injured, he would have been a big candidate of Team of the season.
If I remember rightly Arsenal and Spurs were both sniffing around Ale before the first time his knee went. But like most keyboard warriors on here, clearly he's a parasite and complete waste of money. :/

      Absolute Gold is our Ale.

Totally remember this, figure of 10mil was bounded around towards the start of the Jan window prior to that injury. #### MK Dons, ruined the potential of one of my favourite people to be at this club ever.

I was there, the most innocuous of incidents just kind of stretched to get a high ball if i remember rightly and that was it. Nellys last game I think, horrid.

Cost us a huge talent, even if its a accident, I can't get over his potential. Honestly, while everyone was raving over Taarabt prior to that season, my best mate and I were so confident that Ale would destroy the prem. He just had the right style to do it and he didn't disappoint.

They had 9 men most of the game

They are still a Chelsea side and you can only play what's put in front of you. To try and undermine his performance because they had 9 men is harsh, especially since his tackle led to the second red.

Nas seriously buddy they had nine men. His pass percentage should be through the roof when you have two extra players on the pitch as it in theory should be easier. My memory from the second half of that game is that we could not string two passes together as a team and were seriously under the kosh

Think you've chosen wrong game to publicise his passing ability which he does have. Had you said Spurs first away game with Granero no complaint

Mate, its very commonly said (and if you watch the highlights of the game) that its harder to play against fewer men for some odd reason. Add on the opposition and the fact that they were pushing us hard in the second half and Ale showed off his quality forward passing as well as his defensive ability. That's why I chose that game.

Managed to screencap the awful challenge, or the moment just before to highlight why this is a red card

The height this guy reaches is dangerous and his studs end the move in the air.

Faurlin was absolute top class on Saturday.

Top player, if he hadn't had the injury problems I reckon we'd be a semi-stable Premiership club right now. Very few players in England can dictate a game like Faurlin (when he's on song).

Welcome to the forum mate, hope there's no sarcasm in the post in a similar way as there is in your name and profile pic.

Cheers. I'm serious, I rate Faurlin highly. That first half against Spurs was our most convincing half of our recent PL years imo, and it was Faurlin & Granero running the show.

It really was, truly a remarkable performance from a truly remarkable footballer. Not one person in the game has had anything but good words for him and there is good reason to that.
