  • Official from Burton saying we will interview him

Who is highly regarded by JFH and Burton by all regards
Seems like a no nonsense assistant. The Yin to JFH's Yang. Yet they work well together. Could be a great double appointment.

        • IMHO he'd be a fool to dump Burton flying high and come over here right now. But money talks I guess, the only bargaining chip QPR seem to have nowadays.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Have you ever been interviewed and walked away thinking, I don't fancy that job, or hell the pay isn't enough for that role or similar. I wouldn't say it's a formality just yet fella.

Hopefully, he likes what he hears and is up for it but, don't put the welcome banners out just yet

don't think for one moment he was suggesting Burton are a better club than QPR.

Burton are a safer club than us but no coach can get away with playing it safe any more.

Yeah I know what your saying mate I just think this has been on the burner for ages now . Jfh is obviously interested , we've obviously identified him as our man . It's only going to go one way now in my opinion . No matter how poorly the club has been run in certain secters it's still a fantastic job and a big step up from where he's come from

                  • Looks like he's the man if we're asking to interview him, unless he considers it to be a poison chalice, after our trials and tribulations over the last few years,I'd say he getting the job

                    • Trevor Sinclair has said he has been advising JFH this week, so sounds to me like it is happening, as Sinclair always speaks highly of us in recent times.

Looks done. Official approach in first thing this morning.

For me, it is the first time I have been excited about QPR in a long time. A great player, and so far he is proving to be a good manager. The way his players speak about him, and how he has them performing is incredible. This is Burton Albion we are talking about, a club of that size has no right to be at the top of league 1, let alone in it (No disrespect meant towards them - as the table doesn't lie).

Does he have Championship experience? No, and so what. Nor did Clement, Rowlett, the list goes on. Does he have a vision and style, yes. 11 clean sheets in the league tells you he is big on not leaking goals. When attacking they play good football also (I think it was Burtons 2nd goal last night). Listening to him speak on those documentaries and interviews, he knows what he is talking about and what he wants. He clearly gets his message across and has his players all on side. He will automatically gain the respect of our players because of who he is and what he has achieved in his career which is a lot more than all of our players.

Football has changed. I love Warnock but there is only so much 'old skool' players can take now. There is a lot more to football then having someone just motivate the players. Hopefully he stays on upstairs and can offer Jimmy a little advice if he needs it, but for me Jimmy is the right choice and for the first time in a long time I feel we are getting a manager who will not bleed us dry, and want to do well with us and get us back to a respectful club that everybody likes.
What a great post. Mirrors my feelings about the situation exactly.

Or you could say the prospect of managing a Championship club, which Burton (while they are doing very well) have no guarantee of being, is an exciting one to him.

                              • He has to weigh up whether this chance of a bigger club coming in for him will happen again though?? QPR have come calling, a team with a premier league squad of players IMO, a lot of money and a passionate London fan base where he knows the area well. Burton may be flying high but if they don't go up and he turns this opportunity down, he will be kicking himself...

There was a documentary on Sky not long ago called, 'Burton my Barcelona' where JFH was followed about his daily business at Burton. I watched it then and was impressed with him. He basically said that Gary Rowett left a good side for him but it was a side that still needed a lot of improvement and could do more! At the time I thought that was a bold thing to say considering a small club like Burton were near the top of League 2, smashing teams every week... Since this documentary, he has got them promoted as champions from league 2 and now got them sitting at the top of League 1 - Which is remarkable in the space of 12 months! The guy must have something.

Gary Rowett left Burton when they were high flying and he hasn't done badly at Bham at all! IMO, this is an opportunity Jimmy cannot pass up.
