If this is just to be a consolidation season then any competent DOF would have sold Austin for whatever he could get for him, because not selling him amounted to throwing away whatever fee we could get. If this is indeed a consolidation season and we are not trying for promotion then Sir Les is incompetent and should be fired immediately.
Great point re: Austin. In fact I seem to recall Soneone at the club saying keepinh him could be worth a lot more than 15m if promoted again. So why all this consolidation bull$Hit?
Its time fot both Ramsey and the Director of Failure to go.

Completely agree. This is the killer point that blows Les's whole argument out of the water: either they kept Charlie for one more season to go for promotion, or they totally ####ed up not selling him for the best price they could get. And all this back-tracking over Ramsey. He's just not good enough!!

Everyone would rally round if it looked like we were heading in the right direction, but are we? The definition of madness is doing something that doesn't work and continuing to do it. That's where we are right now.

I'm losing respect for Les with defeatist comments like this. The club has players and resources most don't have in this division but we should aim low! Les' success is directly tied to Ramsey who is clearly clueless and out of his depth. Rather than lower expectations of the fans, raise them by admitting your mistake and getting rid of Ramsey now.

Me too. He is trying to cover his #### by setting low expectations so that if we don't do well he can say "see, I told you it was just a consolidation season", and if we do well he can say "wow, we really did better than I expected, Ramsey is great!". The only problem with this little ploy is it relies on the fact that we fans are stupid. And that is where it fails.

Incidentally, I'd be happy to give Ramsey the time: IT'S TIME TO GO!

This is just Bull$hit from Les.

Ramsey has had enough time. 9 games 3 losses 3 draws and not really many of those opponents will be in the top 6 come the end of the season. 17 goals conceded, 1 clean sheet, 7 games 2 or more conceded. His defensive coaching skills are non- existent. this is not going to improve. His team selections are poor and tactics even worse.
I agree, it is time for them both to go and stop wasting the resources the club has to go straight back up.

Consolidation? Than what happens next season when we have no Austin, Fer, Sandro and Philips? Better next season? Not a hope in ####.

A bit of manager solidarity from Ollie:

Ian Holloway says he agrees with QPR icon Les Ferdinand in that fans will need to show some patience with the west London side, according to his regular predictions column on Sky Sports.

Indeed, the former manager and current pundit was one of many left shocked by last Friday's 4-0 derby defeat at Fulham - but he feels boss Chris Ramsey will find the right balance with time.
The former Queens Park Rangers manager has echoed the sentiments of the head of football operations. Ian Holloway says he agrees with QPR icon Les...

                          The key phrase for me:
There is a lot of calling for time in football these days - with Brendan Rodgers, Arsene Wenger and more. What it often sounds like is an excuse for mediocrity, for the same thing to happen over and over again and for the same people to then ask for more time once the cycle reaches full circle.

Sorry, but anything less than top six is failure and they should both go.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I am expecting us to finish anywhere between 6-10th this season regardless of having Austin, Fer, Sandro and Phillips in the squad.

We are less than 10 games into the season with a lot of new players and a lot having left. The performances have been disappointing in the main but way too early to be throwing the towel in and changing managers.

It is easy to get frustrated with the team we have on paper but I do feel the club are headed in the right direction. It is a complete change in culture and is unlikely to be successful overnight. For me what is key this season is that we are competitive in the second half of the season. The first half is about getting players and systems settled in. There will be ups and downs while that happens.

I am not saying Ramsey is right for the job, just don't know yet. What I do think though is that it would be wrong to repeat the mistakes of the last few years. We all know the legacy that left us with. The club badly needed a change in direction and real change always has to go through a degree of pain.
