      I think there lieth the answer. Many fans have low expectations and probably many people at the club have low expectations as well. So not surprisingly the team tries to play it safe towards the end.

          First thing I thought of was the Liverpool home match last year as well, as most seem to think this was a good point! As far as taking risks, not necessary at this point in the season away to a probable top 6 side!

            Last year we failed to record one point against these = this year sees a big improvement already and was happy to come away with it, despite the Chery miss

              Agreed. That one point could be the difference between being relgated and just about staying up come season end, and the players, management and board all knew it and played it safe.

                  Could well be. I'm sure they are now still confident everything will be OK, but that is our usual condition at the start of each season recently. The end is usually sadly very different. Might regret not making that extra little bit of effort.
