So what you're actually saying is Green should have done what Onuoha SHOULD have done in the first place.

Onuoha should have put it in row z, either before or after he had let it bounce first (again).

Instead he leathered to Green for him to deal with when it should have already been sorted.

completely wrong imho. If you are saying you want our players to leather it out every time as opposed to going back to the keeper, we will have such low possession of the ball each game. Would get real boring, real quick if we continually lump it out of play as opposed to lay it back to the keeper.

Nothing wrong with his pass back to Green. A keeper is expected to be able to deal with that sort of pass every time in modern football and is 100% greens fault.

For what little my opinion is worth, his back pass was fine. The crowd actually clapped it. It wasn't over pacy, or long, it was a direct ball that just needed to be kicked at the first attempt. No, silly b0llox tries to be clever and loses us the game and 3 points. Like Ned as a fella, dislike as a footballer. He's just not for me, but that was 100% Greens fault.

Green and Onuoha are both error-prone. Ned's distribution has always been his weakness, and he was at fault again for Hull's goal.

Smithies had a good game vs Blackburn and didn't deserve to get dropped; and nor did Hall who has been excellent in every game he's played.

To sum defensive things up after reading post in here from the last 10 days
Green is prone to errorr
Pearch is terrible defending and can not make a pass
Onuoha is a mess, can't head the ball away, no distribution, take off him the captains badge
Angella can shout but can't play ball
Konchesky is to old and to slow

No wonder this lot has shipped in 1,63 goals per game

If Ned did that, people would say he can't win the ball. What it showed with Maldini is that his positional sense was so good he never needed to tackle, he'd just intercept the ball early. That's what Ned is doing every single game for us (Obviously to a lesser extent than Maldini) although Ned still manages to chip in with a huge amount of tackles. People who say he doesn't have a footballing brain are just looking for an excuse.

Why don't you actually read what I said instead of just making a judgement based on two farking names. I said that sometimes a centre back's quality is more based on his positional awareness than anything else. I used maldini as an example with extreme statistics that highlight the statement. I never compared them in quality. Try reading a bit more. Also, for the record, I'm 21.

The point I made was not a resembling of their quality but rather of the fact that Maldini's quality was based on the fact that he positioned himself in a way to make many interceptions. Onuoha does that as well. Certainly not the the extent or quality that Maldini does but you look at the statistical extremes to highlight a quality. If I said look at Wes Morgan and the way he plays, no one would give two farks because Wes Morgan did not do anything to define the positioning game. Just like people talk about the Makelele position or Busquets position, we can say the intercepting centre back is the Maldini position because he defined that role.
