Can you think of any more suitable candidates for the award? The defence was largely appaling, Henry and Tozser might as well have not been on the pitch, Phillips was a spectator for most of the game, Loungo loses marks purely for his complete lack of composure in front of goal, and Austin tried hard without (as usual) any service whatsoever. Mackie's substitution changed the game, so for that reason alone he deserves it IMO.

Thought Luongo had a good second half bar the pass instead of shoot decision.

Henry has been very poor this season...too lazy

Back 4 are considered performance wise one of the best in this league. Same can't be said for the two infront of them.

Defence did absolutely fine, the two in front made them do more than any defence should. I'd give MOTM to Onuoha.

That has to be absolute nonsense seeing as we've only had 1 clean sheet and only 2 teams have shipped more goals than us and they are in the bottom 3.

Just watch alot of the goals and you can see that a lot is brought about by either individual skill or by a lack of protection from midfield.

Defence was awful first half, irrespective of the holding midfielders. Purely out of interest, what was it about Onuoha's performance yesterday that lead to the conclusion that he was the MOTM?

Luongo was my our best player last night, no one deserved a MOTM award for that display, but he never hid, tried to link the play and gave his all.

                    This.

That was mad and cost us big time, he should have banged that in no questions asked. But he is certainly one of our better players, workshard & always wants the ball. Done more than most yesterday. Would be way down my list of players to start a thread about to dig out.

Yea I think so. Granted didn'tset the world alight last night, whole team was turd, but from what I have seen of him he seems a quality player. Strong for a relatviely small lad and very tenacious, plus always wants the ball and seems to have 2 decent feet and knows what he is going to do with the ball before he gets it which is a refreshing change.

Their massive bloke lost almost every single aerial challenge with onuoha (that is a fact) and he made one really good dribble, made some key tackles and an incredible last ditch tackle/block on Rhodes when he appeared one on one with the keeper. Add a goal and there you have a man of the match performance.

Luongo was blowing out his ass after 70 mins.. It massively irritates me when a professional sportsman is not fit enough to put a full shift in.

Agree, from Upper Loft front row,
I think the problem was his 1st touch, the ball stayed under his feet which stopped him getting a 'proper' shot in. So with the defender bearing down he chose to pass it to Mackie who was in space 5 yards away. The pass was as poor as the shot 'may' have been.
TBF to him, he was absolutely gutted and punched the ground in despair.
Even Mackie didn't have the heart to slate him.
