Funny how so many others see our ground so so much different to us. (loving all the 'sarky' threads at the minute by the way jim)

Former high-profile referee Keith Hackett has picked his 10 greatest football grounds in the world.

Hackett, who spent three decades as a top-flight official and was also a Fifa referee, included Wembley in his list, which he compiled for You-Are-The-Ref.com and added that Loftus Road was also one of his stand-out stadiums.

Loftus Road was not among his top 10 but Hackett, who refereed QPR’s 1986 Milk Cup final defeat against Oxford at Wembley, added: “There are some stadiums that stick in my mind for different reasons.

“Loftus Road, the home of QPR, is tiny but the crowd are right on top of the pitch so the noise can be deafening. There might be less than 20,000 in the ground but they make the same noise as 40,000.

“I can remember refereeing an FA Cup replay there midweek and getting stuck in terrible traffic. When I arrived we were missing a linesman so we put at an appeal to the crowd for a volunteer.

“Three people came forward including a young man and two older guys. I chose the most experienced older guy. The youngest guy laughed and said it was probably for the best, before rolling up his sleeve and showing me a huge QPR tattoo.”

That comment was probably from about 20 years ago. When did Hackett last referee?!!

Not exactly relevant to today kev.

No but so many people say its so intimidating at the r's mate, and as we all know it rarely really is. Been a morgue this season, and dont remember it to lively last either, even in the grudge matches.

I would say the coaching team along with the more experienced members of the team need to discuss changing our playing style, and formation for starters. It lies with the manager clearly as the buck stops with him, but others are allowed input surely.

Agree with that. Never got the whole thing about it being amazing. It's rare it's ever rocking.

If you're asking me then I say January.

This season was all about consolidation. Never going back up. We are 100% not ready as a club. The brief would of been, slash the wage bill by 75% bring in younger, cheaper players, if we have to have 2 average seasons then so be it. By then we'll have become a 'normal' better run club and we can then plot our return.

The only people I think fretting are the fans who want to go up. I said it at the start and I'll repeat it here. I do not want us to go up. I want the philosophy of the club to change, which it is then see where we're at. That's why Ramsey won't be sacked as he is fulfilling his obligations so far. If we were bottom 6 in Jan then yes pull the trigger, if not he's going nowhere.

There's no way in the world we will get a decent atmosphere all the while the manager picks the wrong teams and they go out and perform like they have this season.

My sentiments exactly but with one proviso I would like to see some entertaining attacking football as CR promised at the beginning of the season.

I hate the Premier league and all that goes with it,best league in the world your having a laugh

And guess what we might just see a return to the atmosphere that Loftus Rd can and did produce

Some of us expected much better than that though Jimmy.

If we had lost Austin, Phillips, Fer and Sandro, I'd have been right with you. We didn't, so personally was expecting a whole lot more than what I've witnessed so far. The performances in general have been absolutely woeful, imo.
