did chelsea have the fanbase they have now 10 years ago?
Chelsea have always had that fan base they have always been a club 3/4 times the size of QPR. This argument carries no weight its like when people dig the Geordies out for having 13k back in the 80s yet now they have 50k+.
Attendances go up and down through the decades and yeah we may have average 25k in the 70's but that is what you call a peak. I'm sure Superhoop67 knows that seeing as I know for a fact he was at every match that season home and away.
I doubt QPR will ever average more than 20k in my lifetime and if they do they will be newbies who our loyal support will never welcome anyway. You can hold up Fulham as an example but they are a family club and we haven't been one for 10 years. QPR is rough club I don't care what anyone says, we have always been a hard crowd to please and IMO we are probably better off where we are. I say this because everything we all seem to deplore like Chelsea & Fulham supporters is exactly what we will become if these large increases in in attendances come about in this modern football era.

your missing the point. i am looking years and years down the road. the real money isn't in how many are in the stadium. man u make alot of money in japan. these are not in england nor will most know where manchester is let alone go there but they still make money from them. you can see foundations being laid to increase our profile abroad (bahrain).
to our board the football is almost secondary. its the profile of the club that they want to improve (although that is hard to do when your in the championship) that is why i am surprised that we haven't signed a past it former world class footballer.
also chelsea did not really capitalise on the foreign market until the abramovich takeover. so there fan base has increased

I'm not missing your point, I'm very clear on your point.
Get your head out of the clouds its QPR FFS we will never have any kind of brand/profile outside of West London.
Now read my post back through and digest it, hopefully it'll keep your feet on the ground.
the UFC never had a big fanbase in the UK but in recent years this has changed. how then judging by you analogy did this happen?
i could go on and on
Yes you could go on and on....so much so you'd probably give an asprin headache.
You head is in the clouds, your living in a fantasy land, your whole argument is based on a thousand ifs and buts.
We can all dream but lets now try to get some perspective, its never going to happen infact I think the chances of seeing my club win a major honour in the domestic game during my lifetime as very slim.....and your talking up david v's goliath aspirations, come on
So UFC is a SPORT not a team , just like American football over here
its the same theory
something small can become bigger it happens all the time but some can't seem to see it. it's lucky there are people in this world who have a different attitude otherwise we would be in trouble.
