I am more than Happy Charlie is staying, not just for the team, but also because my son would have to take his favourite poster down...

BUT, is it really loyalty that has kept him here, or that big, juicy signing on fee he can command without a transfer fee in the summer? Yes, QPR get the player for the length of contract they agreed, but get nothing back on their investment (unless he fires us up this time round).

Now, if he signed a new contract, with a pre-agreed release clause, that'd be a different story as I'd see him as loyal to the end; otherwise, maybe, just maybe, he's doing this for his own benefit rather than for the benefit of the club or the owners. Don't get me wrong, he's not doing anything wrong, but he's not exactly helping the club financially until he signs a new deal, is he?

The proof will come in the coming weeks just how focussed he is on the cause. I think that won't be a problem, but we'll have to see...

Yep. And it was not like the board slapped on a totally unrealistic price on him, I thought 15 mil was more than reasonable. So him staying is not because the board desperately wanted him to stay. We just got lucky I suppose.

Yep. And it was not like the board slapped on a totally unrealistic price on him, I thought 15 mil was more than reasonable. So him staying is not because the board desperately wanted him to stay. We just got lucky I suppose.

we fluked this squad big time. tried to farm out fer and sandro, ramsey was doing his best to pitch the sale of austin and green.

we fluked it big time, had nothing to do with fat tony or the others.

what we need to do now is capitalise on this luck and push on in the league

This could be the luckiest season in or history, we are up at the top of the table and havent won or drawn a game properly yet, we have just been lucky. Two more lucky home wins with all the good players we have through pure luck coming up and we will be clear top by luck i reckon..

What I fear is that the m0r0ns in charge will again try and offload Charlie and Co in January, scuppering any chance of success this season. It is amazing how our window-licking tycoons squandered millions when it could have been avoided, but now when keeping a few good players is vital the financial geniuses are keen to offload them for a short-term fix.

We have been known as a selling club since the moorons arrived here then? Must of missed that, thought we were in massive 'debt' due to not selling and en masse buying. Suppose its easy to turn it around and say 'what could happen but never ever actually will' to suit agendas. Keep up the good work guys.

Funny how I had zero agenda 4 years ago, was happy as Punch with the rest of you. Something must have happened in the meantime. When I was admin I had no problem giving fellow-posters second, third, fourth, etc., chances. But I am not so forgiving or gullible when it comes to responsibility at the very top of our club. Fernandes is now semi-gone, that will be some consolation if this season goes south - because so will he.

Mistakes have been made I agree but I believe the club is addressing them, I think the attempted sale of the players was for headlines only, if they really wanted to sell them a fire sale would have taken place.

I believe the object of the excersise was to appease the FL, the club can show that they tried to reduce the club debt and can argue that to have sold the players under value would have cost the club more money in the long term due to future lack of market credibility.

I think you need to cut them some slack, everyone has admitted mistakes where made and measures have been put in place to ensure this isn't repeated

Wide consensus that this was our best transfer window in years Kev, yet some on here even try to put a negative spin on it. Their rhetoric is getting very boring.
