      Great articles. Thanks dsqpr!

Great to read near the end of the strong relationship and respect Chaz has for Uncle Tone. Plus nice to see near how he wants a good rapport with the QPR fans, and not the same flipped situation when he was at Swindon looking for a move.

Really positive stuff hearing people wanting to stay at QPR :0)....

Comes across really well. Clearly wanted to avoid another relegation dog fight and wasn't interested in a struggling prem club. unusual because most players think very short term and are just desperate to be described as a prem player. Nice he recognises the support of the fans. Seems pretty clear he wants out at the end of the season, but will have to be a big to medium sized club to tempt him away.

            The two negatives in the headline cancel each other out, so it could also be read as;

Nice to see integrity in a footballer for a change.

The thing with Charlie is that he knows he is a very good player. Throughout his career, at every level, he has delivered goals consistently, be it with a promotion chasing side or one that finished bottom.

This means that he can afford to take his time over any future move, ensuring that it's the right one for him. Because he knows that he will score plenty of goals this season.

Players such as Berahino who has had one decent season, quite aside from acting un-professionally are desperate to move and get their big contract because they don't have the confidence that they will repeat their goal scoring this season. If he has an average season, he will be soon forgotten about and can wave goodbye to a big move. Whereas Charlie knows that he is way better than the likes of him and is going to have a fantastic season with us, opening up even better opportunities for himself.

Frankly, I am amazed that some of the bigger London clubs chose to decline the bargain of the summer at £15m. Arsenal have waved goodbye to any chance of challenging for the title, relying on Giroud. I can't see even a fit Welbeck will ever have the impact of a Charlie Austin, who is a far better all round player. And improving. He just didn't happen to play for Man Utd.

Spurs will be lucky to finish top 6 now. Yet they were prepared to pay upwards of £20m for Berahino. Although in fairness, since the sale of Gareth Bale, they have become rather expert at wasting millions on very average players.

              EDIT:
Forgot to mention England. Roy Hodgson played Vardy in a friendly ahead of Charlie. Then chooses him over Charlie for the current England squad. Utter madness.

Great interview with Charlie. A sound bloke. Seems like he was as critical of his performance at Charlton as I was. Haha. That wasn't my finest hour, however.

Oh what the heck, let's do some logic. What you have said is not correct. Either the deal is right or it isn't. Either Charlie is going or he isn't. That gives us four possibilities:
                  Deal Right? / Charlie Going?
                  Yes / Yes
                  Yes / No
                  No / Yes
                  No / No
The headline only tells us about the last two cases: what happens if the deal is not right ("If the deal is not right..." - that is a condition). It does not say anything at all about what happens in the other two cases, when the deal is right.

Only explanation is that he has some relationship to the bookies that have taken all the Poole Town bets on Charlie playing for England. That or he is mental.

Some of our fans have no respect for our chairman, unlike Charlie.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Also what must be considered is the wages we pay.
Over the last four years, our ludicrously high wages has worked against us ie unable to get rid of the likes of SWP, Cesar ..etc etc during windows.

My thoughts are for once our ridicously high wages have worked in our favour this window. From what I can gather Chaz is on a minimum of £35k p/w possibly £50k p/w ...once your on a massive wage it's hard to move to go down or equal. Clearly if by jan we are going up we will improve his contract, I'm not sure any of the other contenders interested in him can match or better what we are offering and thus as with fer, Philips etc it makes it easier to stay.

I understand when Zaha went from palace to Utd, he was offered £35k p/w by Utd ...we offered Luke Young that amount.

I remember reading (more than once, I think) that Chaz is on £28kpw but of course I can't say if that is accurate.
