MARTIN SAMUEL: Finally, the Football League came to their senses over Queens Park Rangers. Being a bad football club is punishment enough. It does not need extreme action from above.
He's right as to what is the point of doing more damage. It helps no one. If a club doesn't show some sort of ambition, its a disappointment (Ie Blackpool) and I think the only reason people here reacted badly to our spending was this whole FFP thing.

The article is spot on - being a badly run club is its own punishment. That is why we are back in the Championship which relative to spending must make half a dozen prem clubs look like models of financial prudence.
£179m in debt, dwarfing the debt of every club bar Bolton. Spending twice that of turnover throughout the championship. To scale that is considerably worse than Greece! Am really struggling to still see how anyone can say we have been well run after reading that.
I think fortunately we can draw a line under it, with Mr Loos and the measures we now have in place, I don't think we will see this again, the club has shown a new ethos to spending.
I suspect we have lost out to other clubs this summer because of these measures.
The horse has bolted, but at we have closed the stable door.
Hoillet I suspect is the last of the big money crew, everyone else have relegation clauses in there contract, the scary think is, Hoillet is probably the highest earner at the club, lol.
I think the club is moving in the right direction and even though the owners have made mistakes, we are lucky to have them, they could have cut and run and boy we would be £@ckec!
