It's about time somebody put Hoilett out to pasture. He's been given countless run's in the team and has not once, ever lived up to the early promise shown at Blackburn. We need him off the wage bill, he needs a move to the MLS where he wont look as shite as he really is.

I'm glad Ramsey has shown a bit of bite. If he acts on this and we never see Hoilett in the squad again then he'll have earned more respect from me for finally doing something that should have been done a long time ago.

I honestly think the standard of footballer is rock bottom now, from our academy sides, reserves to our first team. One word, depressing
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

Just listened to the CR post-game interview. I'm starting to like this guy. No excuses (unlike Redknapp). No "there were positives" (unlike Redknapp). No deaf ear to the fans' feelings (unlike Redknapp). Yes, it was a crap game, and yes, several of the players can now stop griping about not being selected for the first team. Maybe CR will not ultimately work out as the Rangers manager; the jury's out. But CR IS doing something we haven't heard in several seasons: he's taking, and standing up, for us.

tbf... while i wasn't a huge fan, i can remember red chap coming out with the "these players can stop knocking on my door asking whay they aren't getting picked" line after one of our many cup humiliations too.

No offence meant, mate. But if I use the word ####, I need to know what he said was the case. And I can't be bothered to listen to his comments. I want never to think of that awful game last evening.

On the player interview he doesn't say it. On official site after match comments , thats what he is reported to say by whoever produced the article.

Ok, lets try to put this quote into context.

Here's what he actually said on the official, but not on Player:

“We should have killed the game off early on given the amount of chances we had. However, some of the players have got to look at themselves closely after tonight. They have to realise that the performance was not good enough.

I made a number of changes, but the team I put out could quite easily feature in a Championship match. We need to have strength in depth but, if tonight is anything to go on, we haven’t got enough if we’re going to perform like that.

Certain players in and around the first team need to step up – otherwise they’ll be gone very soon. That performance was unacceptable. I can’t necessarily blame the young players totally, I think some of the senior players didn’t play as well as they should have done.

With the exception of Clint Hill, they should have set an example, and they didn’t. The effort from some of the players, who should have been more on their game, left a lot to be desired.”

In other words, what he's clearly saying is that even though in theory that is a team he could have played in the Championship, in the same breath he is very clearly saying that on last night's evidence he would obviously not do that, due to the players he was hoping to have relied on letting him down big time.

Sounds to me that what he's saying is the team that he put out is easily good enough for the championship. If so he's deranged.

Well, I've just watched the after match interview...............................Got a lot more time for Rambo after seeing it.
He is clearly seething, as are a few on here, so they're all in agreement then.
I find him correct too, should've buried this game. Hopefully Les & the board will see we must spend some good on money on 2 or 3 reinforcements

...although no one else seems be interpreting it that way and no matter how often they explain it, you plough on regardless.

cr seems to be saying that it's possible that circumstances may make him call on a similar line-up in the league and that the performance last night is completely unacceptable and players need to buck their ideas up.

you seem determined to interpret his words as something along the lines of: he's almost definitely planning to use this line up in a league match and is convinced that this is still the case, regardless of how they played.

i'm far from convinced that cr is deranged in this instance.
