Hear what you are saying but just don't agree. A few million is a lot of money in the real world. Plus he would want large wages. It came up that if Green was on the relatively "modest" wages of 40k a week for a Prem player, that would amount to over £2m a year. Palace probably think they have enough to survive. But is Austin going to be enough to make them contenders for Europe? Very much doubt it. So where, business-wise, is the mileage? Everyone talks about the revenue in the Premier League, but that money and more besides is sucked into transfers and wages at most clubs. Most run at a loss. The fact that clubs like Palace are not chucking money around but spending it sensibly is probably why they are in the Prem and we are back in the Championship facing a FFP fine having had to off-load many assets for free just to get them off the wage bill.

But a signing most of "us" would have made ourselves, probably.

Not sure if Austin will be off to Palace but one things for sure, if Glen Murray is a 5m quid player in the current market there is no reason why any club should be complaining about having to play 15m for Charlie. 10 times the player that Murray has ever been and 6 years younger!

If Palace do take Austin, how much do you think Chelsea would take for Bamford? £2-3m?
          Kept the faith!

Is the world of football the real world though?
There are differences in income for places as well so Charlie's goals could move them up just a few places in the league to justify his cost.
Lastly they have been spending. Cabaye and Wickham weren't cheap. But there is a lot to admire about them at the moment, it hurts me to say.

Both Murray and Gayle played for them yesterday. I don't know if Wickham is injured but he wasn't even on the bench.

                Palace back in for Charlie

Price which scared the south Londoners off earlier this summer hasn't changed but they believe they can negotiate a deal before the deadline
I should probably write something insightful here

Something crazy has happened to the transfer market since last year. Glenn Murray is costing more than Ricky lambert cost Liverpool last season even though lambert is 2 years older than Murray and lambert scored about 15 goals in the season prior to his move, compared to murray's 5

The market has gone bonkers, 5m bid for Murray, 10m for Dwight Gayle, 9m for Andre Gray.....All totally ridiculous in my opinion. How these 3 players can be worth those numbers yet a 26 year old English player who scored 18 Premier League goals last season isn't worth 15m is totally beyond me.
